@OlivierElzingre @tulip_education Now I'm wondering if it's a second language thing? The French can be somewhat circuitous in their language, especially in more formal registers. I imagine I'm more "direct" in French than the French think they are. Now I sound like David Mitchell . . .

@OlivierElzingre Indeed, but you don't need a PhD to tick those boxes IMO. Definitely a different mindset here to Europe, I reckon you need to look back to the White Australia policy (at least) and our British colonial past to unpack the behaviour stuff.
