Creatine is being consumed for all kinds of workouts. Here’s what I found out-
I was having a discussion on supplements with fellow doctors and was intrigued to find out that people are consuming creatine for all kinds of workouts now.
As a Yoga guy myself this got me interested and I decided to look into it.
Firstly we need to understand how Creatine works
- Creatine helps regenerate ATP, the body’s quick energy currency.
- This matters for multiple physical exercises be it running, cycling, workouts by improving output and energy.
That’s why Creatine consistently shows up in physical science not hype, just physiology.
But here’s what’s important to understand before trying it
- The Creatine monohydrate should be ≥99.5% pure
- If flavoured, should have No Added Sugar
- Must be Lab tested for DCD & DHT impurities, which can appear due to poor manufacturing control.
I won't use it unless the above criteria is met. So if anyone wants to take Creatine (of their choice) they should know what’s right for their health.
The above information was cross checked from many major sites including Mayo and Wikipedia.
Came across Man Matters creatine while looking for options, seems to be thoroughly tested, which is a good thing.
