Introducing MIRA.
A playable, multiplayer world model.
A dream of Rocket League.
Trained on 10k hours of data collected with publicly available bots, MIRA learns the dynamics of a four-player game. The model runs in real time at 20 fps, based on the keys you and the other players press.
Built by General Intuition and @kyutai_labs, in collaboration with Epic Games. Not used to develop Rocket League.

what are the attractor states of humanity?
cessation?
hedonium?
integration?
divergence?
we need to be discussing where we want to go while we still have time.
i feel like Buddhism should take the possibility of unending, suffering-free experience a little more seriously than it does
is a heaven crystal not a stable attractor state?
I have an unsubstantiated theory that when people nowadays talk about cortisol and serotonin, it is just as unscientific as when people used to talk about the four humours
@yellosubm4rine@BiXolotl “obviously immoral” in the sense that the typical person would consider it very bad that you decided to save the chimp instead of the human
@drownedhalls@lavenderaura000@BiXolotl i was responding to their hot take: that human lives are not more important.
i agree that the killing of the seal was wrongful. the hypothetical wasn’t meant to address that.
The full complexity of human nature is evolved against a very delicate equilibrium, and is tightly-coupled to it.
What subtle goodness is lost once we depart this equilibrium for the proxies of goodness that we desire?
Is Utopia not the evolved equilibrium?
@realmfoster I do agree with the charitable reading of your post that the Anthropic principle explains the incidence of inexplicable things in our past which led to our existence, like the remarkable initial conditions of our universe. The wording just sounded very teleological.
You said certain inexplicable events occurred *to bring America into existence*. That is the Strong Anthropic Principle. Requires a different line of argument.
And if all Americas timelines are inexplicable then you finding your America timeline inexplicable is perfectly unsurprising.
@omarsar0 so good. its prose is actually bearable. it can one-shot well formed ideas. just have to remember not to let context get too large or it becomes stubborn
@captain_mrs reasoning tokens are often used just to get passes and more cache to think with, rather than explicitly contributing to a chain of thought. so it really is like a human how these high level exclamations are affording a deeper processing, huh!
@GordonBrianR The field of physics uses externalised symbolic world modeling. What Chollet is emphasizing is internalised symbolic world modeling. Very few humans can do a good job of internalising symbolic world models. Maybe we can have AI do it better.
