The National Testing Agency (NTA) is facing fresh scrutiny after candidates appearing for the UGC-NET June 2026 examination alleged multiple errors in the Sociology paper and claimed that several questions in the the English paper were repeated from the previous year's examination.

Candidates have pointed to spelling mistakes, grammatical and translation errors, poorly framed questions, and the inclusion of topics they believe were outside the prescribed syllabus. While concerns have also been raised over the quality and integrity of the examination process, the NTA has not issued an official response to the allegations related to either paper so far.

Can a research scholar get an admission after making spelling, grammatical errors in the thinker's name while writing proposals ? Then how can the exam which is the criteria itself is full of mistakes and complete change names and concepts? This is bare minimum accountability.

So NTA says they are ready to retract error based questions and that typographical errors are absolutely ‘normal’. Changing Proper names of sociologists is normal, apparently students were supposed to guess the names.. Great then. We will file formal written complaint. We will see how many typographical proper name errors you are willing to drop. Also, wondering how will the results even be relevant if more than 40 questions are dropped? Can @NTA_Exams please wake up from their deep slumber?

@ant_taraa Having taken the exam myself I can vouch for NTA's sheer ignorance and no accountability. Not only the pattern of the question paper was entirely changed in a random manner, there were spelling mistakes too in every other questions. A 10 year old would have typed a better paper.

The sheer audacity to say that it has not come across any issues and that the questions will be dropped if students challenge them. Okay. Challenging a single question takes Rs. 200. So first make sure a paper is made with 50% errors then expect the very students to pay and ask them to rectify? So this is how challenge works. We need to provide proof for each (wrong answer) error by providing a valid textual reference. Questions are dropped once in a blue moon when answers are wrong. How are students supposed to point out spelling errors, basic grammar errors and most important translation errors? So now students will pay for each question. (Close to approx 50 MCQs). As per NTA, if questions are dropped the challenge amount will be refunded. Now here is the funniest part. Most of the times the questions do not get dropped. Last Jan ‘26 two questions remained unchanged despite major error. What a profitable business model! You don’t need a subject expert to identity massive proof reading lapse of the papers. Does NTA not even have a committee for basic proof reading? How can a paper like this be passed ?? @NTA_Exams @ugc_india @EduMinOfIndia

Office जाओ तो कहते हैं कि kyc window जब खुलेगी तब ही solve होगा आपका problem.
