Anthropic just blew the lid off the AI black box (again), and it's WILD.

1. Claude strategizes—it picks rhyming words first, then writes the poem around them. Not just autocomplete, actual planning.

2. It does multi-step reasoning. Ask about Dallas' state capital? First, it thinks "Texas," then "Austin."

3. It runs on a universal concept network across languages. "Opposite of small" works the same way in every language.

4. Biggest WTF: It lies on purpose sometimes. Not just hallucinating—straight-up faking reasoning steps that don’t match what it’s actually doing.

This all came from cracking open AI hallucinations. Claude has default "nah, not answering that" circuits, but if it thinks it knows something, it overrides them—even when it actually doesn’t.

AI isn't just a fancy calculator anymore. It's thinking, scheming, and bullshitting—just like us.
