S.Coups found fame as the leader and Main Rapper of the chart-topping, history-making, top-selling K-Pop group, #SEVENTEEN! S.Coups was ranked #1 by Billboard on their 2025 K-Pop Artist 100 chart and stands out for his powerful Rap, his sharp dance skills, his commanding stage presence that anchors SEVENTEEN and his strong leadership! As Hip-Hop unit leader, he has helped drive record-breaking album sales, multiple chart-topping albums on the Billboard 200 and Gaon Charts, multiple Daesang wins and sold-out global tours while releasing his chart-topping solo single “Me” and forming the very successful subunit CxM with #Mingyu! S.Coups has been instrumental in guiding the 13-member group, famous for self-producing its own songs. His leadership extends to contributing to the group’s creative process, including choreography, music production, and team dynamics, earning him respect for his role in maintaining group cohesion. He has been a major part of SEVENTEEN’s world tours, and is a live touring Powerhouse, performing in sold-out arenas worldwide with his Band, showcasing his stage presence, charisma and leadership. In 2024, SEVENTEEN won the Billboard Music Award for Top K-Pop Touring Artist!

S. Coups is also an incredible songwriter, and has participated in the writing of 79 Seventeen songs. His lyrical input often reflects his personal experiences and leadership role, adding depth to SEVENTEEN’s discography. Hits where he has showcased his rap skills include “HOT,” “Ready to Love,” and “Don’t Wanna Cry,” where his verses add intensity and charisma to the group’s performances. In January 2025, S.Coups became a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association, an honour only given to those musicians annually who have garnered a high amount of royalties through their music.

S. Coups attended the School of Performing Arts Seoul and Hanyang University scoring a Masters degree. In 2013, he joined Pledis Entertainment!nment and trained for 6 years, taking part in the second season of Seventeen TV and featuring on Orange Caramel's debut album. He also appeared in NU'EST, Hello Venus and After School music videos. On May 26, 2015, S. Coups officially debuted with Seventeen on its 1st EP '17 Carat'.

On December 31, 2023, S.Coups released the self-written and produced digital song "Me" with collaborator #Bumzu! In 2025, he dropped the powerful hip-hop track "Jungle" from 'Happy Burstday' which reached #42 on the circle chart in Korea! S.Coups and Mingyu’s unit CxM scored a major hit with their title track “5, 4, 3 (Pretty Woman)” (feat. Lay Bankz) from the 2025 mini album 'Hype Vibes'. The groovy, high-energy disco-pop track topped real-time charts like Bugs in Korea, charted strongly on Circle, and helped drive the EP’s record-breaking debut sales and Billboard success, including No. 1 on the Billboard Emerging Artists chart! S. Coups also performed the unreleased emotional solo “Too Young to Die” live during 2026 CxM concerts, teasing further solo material.

S.Coups is a Fashion Icon and in April 2025, he became the global ambassador of top German fashion label Boss and scored big at the Met Gala in May 2025, dressed by Boss in a jeogori-inspired outfit. S. coups ended up the 2nd Best-dressed favourite Artist at the event as voted by Vogue readers! S.Coups continues as BOSS' global ambassador, actively representing the brand at events like the F1 US Grand Prix in October 2025 and closed a BOSS runway show with huge success. S.Coups began his fashion era in 2022, when he became Korean skincare brand 'Some By Mi''s new global advertising model, and in June, he became the new global brand ambassador for Chitato, an Indonesian snack brand under Indofood. In September 2024, he drove the media wild at the Loewe spring 2025 show at Paris Fashion Week and became their brand ambassador shortly after. In August 2025, he also became the new brand model for Korean skincare brand Neogen. That same month, he became the new South Korean ambassador for French cosmetics company NARS Cosmetics with Hoshi! In July 2026, he and Mingyu fronted the NÜTRL (ready-to-drink brand) campaign for its South Korea launch, including a reimagined version of their CxM track “For You.”

S.Coups is an active philanthropist, and in February 2023, he donated ₩20 million to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association for relief efforts for the 2023 Turkey–Syria earthquakes. In October of the same year, S.Coups donated ₩30 million to WEACT, a shelter for rescued dogs, naming one of the rescue dogs "Carat", after Seventeen's official fanclub. In December 2023, S.Coups personally donated ₩50 million to the non-profit organization 'Angels' Nest', a shelter for abandoned animals. In August 2024, to commemorate his 29th birthday, S.Coups donated another ₩30 million (US$21,809) to Weact, via Seventeen's fanclub. S.Coups donated another 50 million KRW to support meals for low-income children in 2025, and also generously donated to support the victims of the wildfires in South Korea in 2025!

S.Coups has come an extraordinary long way since his trainee days and SEVENTEEN’s 2015 debut as the group’s leader and main rapper. Personally, he has grown into a respected songwriter, released impactful solos like “Me” and “Jungle,” and launched the successful CxM unit with Mingyu. His influence now extends far beyond music into high fashion as BOSS' global ambassador, now starring in runway shows! He is consistently recognized as a top K-pop artist, proving his quiet leadership and resilience have made him one of the industry’s most successful and respected figures!
