@RobSpencer1 @MrJoeMilliano How did the swinging happen? Did students hold the wooden planks and swing them?

[gatorphysics @swampphysics]

@SICKOFWOLVES yay thank you!

@maalmeida85 Using Fr=Ia. the students timed for 2.5 rot(length of rip cord) to find a. for F, attached different masses to the wheel and released it.

[gatorphysics @swampphysics]

I always avoided rotational inertia labs, but this year I'm giving it a try. Class lab to determine. rot. I of a wheel. #iteachphysics

[gatorphysics @swampphysics]

@onarug2pointo context?

[gatorphysics @swampphysics]

@BairdDr25972 Thank you for posting this. This is awesome. Can you explain why the spider is EQS?

[gatorphysics @swampphysics]

@PhilipMRussell1 I was looking for a lab that had students measure the mag. force! What did you use for the magnet holder? Is that a special kind of wire? What gauge?

Toilet Paper Lab! It'll be a staple from now on. I loved it. Always interesting to see how a lab challenges Ss differently than practice problems #iteachphysics

[gatorphysics @swampphysics]

#iteachphysics ! has anyone done the toilet paper drop/unrolling activity for mechanics? if so can you give me some tips? How much scaffolding was given? How much time do you give? TY!

[gatorphysics @swampphysics]

@phyzman grasped! I get it.

[gatorphysics @swampphysics]

Balanced Torque lab! one of my favorites to do with the Ss. I think I found a budget set up that I'm happy with. Strings & Binder Clips for the fulcrum. Ss can perform the lab standing and at any location #iteachphysics

[gatorphysics @swampphysics]

@McClowny woa. that's a good idea. I teach them the finger slide trick but I've never had them do it with hanging masses.

[gatorphysics @swampphysics]

@Misterfizzx it cuts down on me telling them to use the metric side. every time I hear the Ss remind each other that they're using the wrong side during labs it's a good reminder that's one less time that I'll ever have to remind them

[gatorphysics @swampphysics]

@phyzman 100% I'll do this. ty for the idea!

[gatorphysics @swampphysics]

Motors! Ss found out that they can adjust the rotations by pressing on the sides #iteachphysics

@Hookean1 thank you!
