@jazztheunicorn And along the “you gotta wait” lines, if you are obviously an emergency case, they will priorities you no matter what. I will happily pay taxes if it means a single mum can take her baby to the hospital and not stress about how they will pay rent as well.
@jazztheunicorn I haven’t had a second thought going to the ER for my kids and it makes me so grateful to live in Australia. My son had covid and we were concerned with his breathing. Went to ER, they had them on their virtual ward, they sent us medicine TO OUR DOOR and we didn’t pay a thing
@jazztheunicorn And those who argue “oh but you must be treated like a second class citizen at the hospital and wait long hours so it’s not worth it”
1. I have only ever been treated with respect at hospitals
2. Ok sure you may have to wait BUT AT LEAST you get seen by a health professional!?
@jazztheunicorn And people who argue that “you shouldn’t let the government control your healthcare”, they don’t. You can still get private health cover if you can afford it. What it means is families like ours who CANT afford it can still at least go to the hospital without fear of debt
