Sony is currently charging $70 for God of War Ragnarok digitally. It is $32 at Wal-Mart. The game is 4 years old.
People will no longer have options after 2028 and will HAVE to go directly to Sony’s digital storefront and pay whatever PlayStation says.
> This is a "we don't know what we actually want" problem.
The mob wants ETH number to go up. Failing that, someone, anyone, to point fingers at.
This will require greater need for and use of ETH, and therefore more burning of ETH.
Fortunately, we are getting very close to being able to implement near-synchronous and synchronous composability in which tokens will be able to move automagically via ZK proofs that set up shared atomic execution contexts across multiple networks (L1, L2s, Besu private networks, ...) in real-time. This will unify fragmented liquidity pools in real-time. Much ETH will be burned increasingly many complex bridge-less cross-chain TXs are orchestrated. TradFi is coming to do some of this. Agentic will do some of this. And DeFi will make use of this.
The lesson is obvious now.
Crypto spent years running away from its own core ideals and got exactly what it deserved.
Now come back to the L1.
Come back to Ethereum.
@daonamic I see Ethereum's decentralized synthetic dollars as a tech that's ruthlessly filtering out a weaker money. Just like new world tech could mass produce shell beads. Synth dollars might not be ideal end state (like inflated shell beads) but they help bring about the better system.
Tom Lee didn't save anything. I'm glad he's buying ETH, but long term price is downstream of whether the thing is real, useful, and credibly neutral. If your model of Ethereum is that it survives because a whale shows up at the right moment, you've already conceded there's nothing underneath when there clearly is.
This is why you can't hand the chain to VCs whose time horizon is their fund's, or to podcasters whose incentive is to be cool and famous rather than correct.
ETH ppl took shit before corps/govts arrived, before genius, before L2, before defi, and we'll keep taking shit until global ubiquity, and we'll like it. Because on the other side of this is ETH at trillions and Ethereum serving humanity for 1000 years. ETH forever
Most people still holding $eth are likely ready to go down with the ship; at least I am.
Ethereum is a bastion of freedom and self-sovereignty in an increasingly controlled world.
No amount of number go down could get me to sell. Even with most of my net worth in eth, I would hold it to literal zero.
I would rather take a chance on eth and be wrong than give up hope on the most inspiring invention of my generation.
Come zero or valhalla, I'll be here.
Believe in somΞthing.
I understand why he's doing this, great for engagement, the pod, business, etc. But constantly shilling $ETH for 10 years and then turning around with "I told you sos" after selling like 3 days ago is the most cringe thing I have ever witnessed
If you haven’t had 99% of your net worth in $ETH over the last decade but you claim to be an Ethereum maxi, stop calling yourself that
Call yourself a diversification maxi instead
I don’t have a Plan B
$ETH is my Plan A-Z
I’m tripling down here
