@kellydyer1961 Yep. Regardless of the cause, face of the child is disfigured by the pit bull and pit bull mix way too often. I don't see cocker spaniels, golden retrievers, or Weimaraners on the list. A friend was a great dog owner but when her pit mix bit 3 people randomly it had to be downed.

@kellydyer1961 Yes, I have a lot to learn. I was not fully aware of just how dangerous pit bulls are so I have just spent some time doing additional research. Thank you for motivating me to learn more @kellydyer1961 . I feel more well-versed now in the inherent dangers of pitbulls/pitbull-mixes

@kellydyer1961 From 2010 to October 2023, there were 478 fatal dog bites, with 196 of those coming from pit bulls, and another 49 that were pit bull mixes.
60% had pit bull in their bloodlines (either full-blooded or mix)
7% had Rottweiler in their bloodline
4% had German shepherd in bloodline.

@kellydyer1961 Pitbulls are responsible for 60% of all injuries and 63% of ocular injuries. Pitbull attacks have higher morbidity rates, higher hospital charges, & higher risk of death than attacks by other breeds. 2005-17, pit bulls killed 1 citizen every 16.7 days, totaling up to 284 in USA.

@GWADream3 @i_heart__bikes @sharrond62 @outsidemagazine Right on! It is so infuriating to be labeled as "anti-trans" when I am in fact "pro fairness for women and girls in sports". I am also supportive of trans rights. Those rights however do not including infringing on the rights of women to set records, compete fairly, earn prize $.
