Indian medical education will soon become a cringe fest, so much that none of the other countries of the world will accept its [true] value.

In this standard ENT textbook taught to students in MBBS, the author, Professor P.L. Dhingra claims that at 20 weeks of gestation, when the cochlea of the ear is developed, the fetus can probably hear in the womb of the mother - ok, all well - but then compares it to how Abhimanyu, when still unborn, heard the conversation between his mother and father, Arjuna in the Indian Hindu religion-related classical epic Mahabharata.

Is this how medical science is taught these days?

Instead, the author could have simplified the physiology and response of fetal hearing through published facts, such as this paper:

Medical educators must first study how not to mix religion into a fact-based teaching resource.

Suhana Khan, daughter of Shahrukh Khan, recently, at a public event, praised Alia Bhatt, daughter of Mahesh Bhatt, for being a role model for environmental sustainability by destigmatizing wearing the same ensemble multiple times through her repeating an outfit for a public event. Of course, this made me realize how much I, son of the generation that is bequeathing to its next-generation a climate crisis, have done for sustainable living by wearing not just the same clothes twice, but many times, but also underwear without washing during student days, conserving water in the process.

No, I kid. While this display of privilege from a superstar kid is funny and worth making fun of, as I just did, it still obscures a more significant point: privilege. Just as Suhana Khan's perspective on virtue might seem absurd to us, it's worth remembering that if we were public figures and our conversations were public domain, we would appear as out-of-touch with reality by those lower on the totem pole of privilege. If someone who struggles to put two square meals for their family heard us complain about lousy service at a restaurant or someone who has to walk miles to get drinking water heard us having a conversation about how awful flying has become, we would be as meme-worthy.

Just as Donald Trump thinks he built his own business after being given millions of dollars (in the seventies) by his father, many of us feel we got to where we are by dint of our "own hard work," being similarly blind to things we take for granted.

In an actor's roundtable, Ananya Pandey, daughter of Chunkey Pandey, wanted the audience to believe her life had not been easy because her father was not Bollywood royalty, as evidenced by him not being a guest on Karan Johar's show, to which Siddhanth Chaturvedi, an actor in the same program and with not her privilege, had quipped that where other people's dreams end, Ananya Pandey's struggle begins there. Game, set, and match, except that Chaturvedi, son of a Chartered Accountant, is as unaware of his privilege as Ananya Pandey is. Sure, his privilege is less than that of Ananya Pandey in Bollywood, but that does not mean that the starting point of his struggle isn't also the terminus of the dreams of millions of others.

And yes, the same applies to us.

🧵 Reasons why Muslims flock to Juhu Beach:

1. There are no parks in Muslim neighbourhoods.
2. There are no proper roads in Muslim neighbourhoods.
3. There is no proper sanitation in Muslim neighbourhoods.
4. There are no schools in Muslim neighbourhoods.
5. Muslim neighbourhoods are not cleaned on a regular basis.
6. No money is allocated to Muslim neighbourhoods for infrastructure development.
7. Muslim neighbourhoods lack adequate water and electricity supply.
8. There is lack of proper water drainage system in Muslim neighbourhoods.
9. Muslim neighbourhoods have a much higher population density than the rest of the city.
10. Through systemic, social, and political opression, Muslims are forced into one neighbourhood so that the government can make policies that ignore these areas.
11. Muslim neighbourhoods are gerrymandered so that the Muslim vote has no political clout. As a result, no development occurs.
12. Muslim neighbourhoods are always ruled with an iron fist by police, leading to further persecution and oppression.
13. Government educational and developmental schemes never reah Muslims because these areas are already earmarked by the government, by both secular and communal parties in India. (Another reason why Muslim are pushed into one area)
14. Banks and financial institutions mark Muslim neighbourhoods (With the help of governments) in such a way that loans and credit are impossible to obtain.
15. There is almost no affirmative action in Muslims and Muslim neighbourhoods.
16. In Muslim neighbourhoods, there is only one government office; can you guess what it is? It is a police station or a thana. To oppress and control Muslims.

I have 50 more macro to micro persecutions of Indian Muslims to go. But let us return to the reason why Muslims flock to Juhu Beach.

Because Muslims have nowhere else to go!

Muslims live in densely populated areas with little sunlight (due to government policy), no parks or places to hang out (due to government policy), no open spaces (due to government policy), and no infrastructure (due to government policy).

It is past time for an open discussion about India's systemic oppression of Muslims through policy and administration.

TO DELHI MEDIA: The current (possibly GLOF triggered) Teesta flashfloods in Sikkim is definitely BIGGER than 2013 Uttarakhand and 2022 Himachal Pradesh.

A MAJOR HYDROELECTRIC PROJECT HAS BEEN DESTROYED. The full extent of damage is going to be apparent soon. Sikkim is sparsely populated, so human casualties might be minimum (🙏), but this is a massive event in geological terms.

This was predicted for years, especially in the Teesta river system, and it has come true. It will upend all planned hydro projects in entire Himalayan regions.
