This was my son Xuan in 2013, stoked to meet Wellington Phoenix FC players at a Dunedin event. Today he signed a contract with the Phoenix. Thank you to our friends, family, coaches and teammates for your help along this 11-year journey.
Xuan Loke 🤝 Wellington Phoenix
Reserves captain signs scholarship deal
Xuan Loke is the fourth Wellington Phoenix Academy player to graduate to the men’s first-team squad this year.
“From when I first saw Xuan to now there’s been a drastic improvement,” Italiano said. “Greeny has obviously done a good job with him at the academy and got him up to a really good standard.
Xuan moved to the Phoenix Academy at the start of 2022 and made his debut for the Phoenix Reserves last year.
Congratulations Loke!
Xuan lost his mum to cancer in 2017. Really grateful he is able to use his story to support the @NZCancerSo 's Relay for Life this year: https://t.co/i81FUzIb7o
"[@WgtnPhoenixFC ] have the best fans in the league. I know they will do their job and it’s up to us to do ours."
