This is a shocking, damning admission.
The UK is arming Israel. It is conducting surveillance flights for Israel. It is training military personnel for Israel.
A full, independent, public inquiry into the UK's complicity in the Gaza genocide cannot come soon enough.
@bls_instructor @cdmukasa Pregnancy causes swelling or oedema all over your body - this includes your throat/airway
You also have all your organs displaced due to the uterus
Lying flat on your back for the intubation can also cause aortocaval compression syndrome causing hypotension
Also a floppy baby!!
@DrEilidhMaria Start applying sooner rather than later, APHRA registration takes ages, they’re really slow and our visa didn’t come through until approved. Not sure with a British passport though. Been in Perth for two years and if you love sun and the outdoors, it’s a great lil city
Today, @WHO cancelled a planned mission to Al-Awda hospital and the central drug store in northern #Gaza for the fourth time since 26 Dec because we did not receive deconfliction and safety guarantees.
The mission planned to move urgently needed medical supplies to sustain the operations of five hospitals in the north, including Al-Awda.
It has now been 12 days since we were last able to reach northern Gaza.
Heavy bombardment, movement restrictions, and interrupted communications are making it nearly impossible to deliver medical supplies regularly and safely across Gaza, particularly in the north. Most hospitals are severely short-staffed, as health workers have left due to evacuation orders or insecurity. Meanwhile, patients' access to health facilities is impeded by perilous conditions.
Without adequate health care, the suffering in Gaza is growing each hour.
Dr. Mohamed Obied, Orthopedic Consultant at Al-Awda Hospital explains the challenges amputees face ⬇️
🔹Injured people are often only able to reach doctors days or weeks after they’ve been hurt, sometimes with severe infections, reducing the possibility of saving their limbs.
🔹 Health facilities don’t have the specialised health workers medicines or equipment these injuries require.
🔹Doctors face the hard choice to perform above-knee rather than below-knee amputations. These pose rehabilitation challenges, and can lead to poor life-quality in the future.
Amputees need physiotherapy and rehabilitation, proper nursing care, along with nutritious food and mental health support - all currently unavailable.
WHO reiterates its calls for:
1⃣Sustained humanitarian access across Gaza
2⃣Active protection of civilians and health care
Ceasefire. Now.
The Irish nation is a nation of immigrants. Millions of Irish people migrated, through famine, war, & economic crisis, & made new homes around the world.
We are a global, diverse nation.
People who veil their racism under the title of "patriots" do not represent Irish values.
It has been a month of intense bombardment in #Gaza.
10,000 people have died. Over 4,000 of them were children.
How long will this human catastrophe last?
We urge all parties to agree to a humanitarian ceasefire and work toward lasting peace. We again call for the immediate release of the hostages.
History will judge us all by what we do to end this tragedy.
