@Elmanogonsalves Alameda has a (likely to succeed, we are told) grant application + public + private funding to bring a Jack London to Alameda Landing and Wind River "dozens a day" Tue-Sat short hop ferry for 2023 and 2024. (I agree with you, and ideally would connect to Brooklyn Basin too.)
@suldrew@sfchronicle SERIOUSLY, what has happened this year?? The @sfchronicle web page has devolved into a mess of headlines like "This (blank) is (blank). When will (blank) (blank)?"
If you dig out the longer stories, the journalism is still good. It's just more work and pretty embarrassing.
@MattHaneySF All good ideas Matt! Please consider a high frequency Jack London to Alameda Landing very short hop as an option to explore, with all the (great) new housing coming to Alameda. A ferry at Alameda Landing should be an easy and big win!
Pretty sure me and my (3) tweets in (10) years aren't gonna move CA policy, but:
Instead of $400 gas rebates, we could give $400 vouchers that pay for EV charger installs in a *lot* of CA homes, more $ for apartments, and move our actual California INFRASTRUCTURE toward EVs.
@GrantBrisbee Could you, uh, work your B-Ref wizardry and figure out the last time someone had a *0.900* OPS *and* had also struck out in 15 of 24 ABs, which seems, like, impossible?
@cfarivar@BikeEastBay Alameda continued it for at least a year with some aspects being examined for minor modification. Psst, Alameda is now one of the most bike and ped and transit progressive cities in the Bay. (Tell people to start taking the free 78 bus to Seaplane Ferry commute!!)
@kenarneson I'm literally begging Alameda to put a couple little restaurants served by the theoretically coming soon quick hop estuary ferry RIGHT. THERE. AT. THE. FUN. NEW. PARK. ON. THE. WATER.
@low___impact@Castrolgbtq@TheFrisc This was a very well done interview. Great job with the nice-but-pointed "You don't like this. But what do you actually *want*?" Good work.
@peterhartlaub@CityofAlameda@SFBayFerry Peter, Alameda is blessed with an EXTRAORDINARY Dept of Transportation. These kinds of projects are hard, and I've been so impressed with all the hard work and outreach done by city staff. The Island is inarguably better for all that they've done.
