☔️| And it’s raining right now in NYC, as Taylor Swift got married.
It is widely considered a symbol of good luck, symbolizing an unbreakable union, fertility, and a fresh start.
what the fuck happened to "when the words of a sister come back in whispers to prove she was not in fact what she seemed not a twin from your dreams she's a crook who was caught" TURN HER BACK FROM THE GATE TAYLOR
“through her songs, she makes us believe that we are in this together and we can grow up, live, love, make mistakes, succeed, fail, and yet continue to believe in our own self-worth” that’s EXACTLY it!!! taylor’s art is like being welcomed and embraced despite any circumstances
when someone called dear john “cheap songwriting” and years later it was sung to honor taylor being inducted to the songwriters HOF we love a full circle moment
💬| Taylor made a firm stance in her speech at the SHOF about how she backs the music she puts out regardless of the feedback she gets, good or bad:
“My favorite art is detailed and singular in its voice, therefore it can’t be digested and metabolized by everyone who experiences it in the same way. I’m very frequently told by people how they feel about my music, that they never really got my music until they got their heart broken, or started driving their daughter to school every day, or until I made an alternative album in the pandemic called folklore, or that they only like the hits, or that they only liked the ones that weren’t hits, or that they don’t like any of it at all. But it doesn’t feel uncomfortable for me to get feedback of all sorts because I know where I stand regarding the work I’ve made. As writers, we can only hope to meet people where they are in their lives, but you can’t ever orchestrate or force the encounter. “
“I would've defended it to anyone who said, "I'm concerned about you."”
“You don't ever say to yourself,
"Look, I've got an eating disorder," but you know you're, like,
making a list of everything you put”
Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time. Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once. And being a @toystory kid from the age of 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond.
Thank you to the brilliant Andrew Stanton for imagining me for this, all those years ago when you wrote this newest film. Thank you to the incomparable @RandyNewman or the gorgeous sonic tapestry of songs and scores you’ve meticulously woven over the years. You created the Toy Story musical world, and we are lucky to get to live in it.
By we, I mean myself and my pal @jackantonoff. We wrote this with so much adoration for these characters that made us laugh and helped us learn lessons and think outside the backyard all throughout our childhoods. “I Knew It, I Knew You” from Toy Story 5 is out everywhere now. 🤠🐴

“country princess who ventured into pop stardom and invented a genre of writing-forward artistry in her own image, returning home, 20 years into her career” is an electrifying narrative that will win her that fifth AOTY, write this down.
