All things transit related in Southwestern Ontario, and only transit, we’ll maybe a little bit of land use too. Opinions my own. Managed by Matthew Peloza.
For those that say London bike lanes don't get used, as the network expands usage is up on the existing network.
July 2024 saw 6 of 10 London's active Eco-counter sites show their busiest bike counts ever.
Sites active both this and last year are up 9.1% vs July 2023.
@RM_Transit Canada's Wonderland is North America's busiest seasonal theme park at nearly 4M visitors annual. There are 12 year-round parks, all in CA or FLA with higher annual attendance. Halloween Haunts and Winterfest have done great at extending the season, but more is possible.
@the_transit_guy Ann Arbour is by far the business passenger rail station in Michigan. I get temptation to connect through Ohio and dual purpose the corridor, but not connecting the cities across southern Michigan together is a huge miss.
@Rickshaw85@liamdahl Similar idea here, but I think you get better connectivity if you keep the new line near the lake front leading west, and use the Ontario line to go north and create a west relief line. Creates an extra junction and network more grid like.
BREAKING NEWS: Metrolinx has acquired land west of Mount Pleasant GO station to build a flyover to bring up to 15 minute GO train service to Kitchener. This flyover, which would separate CN freight trains and GO trains, removes the major barrier for 2WADGO to Kitchener.
@liamdahl Yes, you said no-extensions, but easier to visualize with adding in the should exist extensions too.
Sheppard across the top of the city airport to Scarborough.
Ontario Line becomes a W
New line cutting between Midtown and Ontario Line through core, working south to lake.
@RaveDrool It was a different time for sure, 1/4th of those albums are various artists or soundtracks.
Also I forgot Prozzak existed. Doing Gorillaz type things first.
@RaveDrool @northernpikes Saw them twice, 1990 at western fair in London and 1991 in Chatham. Chatham show the opening act was Crash Test Dummies before they hit it big. Really good live band.

@jrochest@RM_Transit@JustinTrudeau Opened Dec 2017, so just over 6 1/2 years. But groundbreaking on construction started in 2009. I’d like to think that over 15 years on knowing exactly where a stations would be something better than warehouses and parking lots could be planned and built.
@Terence_Johnson@JackTattTran@JakeLandauTO@AlexanderGlista Yup, 100%. Good chance a) prices are regulated and controlled by producers, might not be the price competition you think it is, b) age of majority control will decrease, c) retailers will focus on high volume products and variety off offerings and small producers will suffer.
@st3v3turn3r The construction in the video is the work to return Mud Creek to its natural course. The flood plane is currently protected with only a gravel parking lot on it, paving was not allowed.
@st3v3turn3r The new development planned for this area is not on the flood plane area, and part of the project includes Mud Creek rehabilitation which allows it to handle more extreme events in the future. Adelaide, that’s a different story.
Oxford Street West is now closed, Eastbound traffic being diverted south onto Proudfoot. Westbound traffic being directed through Fleetway parking lot.
