I beg you to vote NO on Julie Su's nomination for labor secretary. Just like previous labor secretary nominee David Weil, Su favors regulations that will MISclassify #freelancers/ICs as employees. As a 20-year freelancer, I don't want my #smallbiz stolen from me.
Well isn't this a nice bit of karma...
Congratulations to @KevinKileyCA on his victory. Thank you for fighting to protect independent contractors at the state level in California. We look forward to you helping to protect us all now in the U.S. House of Representatives.
@DionLimTV I shot here many times and always felt lucky to leave unscathed. I even had it on my website for a while that I will no longer do SF weddings. Even turned one down in 2021. Theft, parking issues, and other logistics just made it not even worth it.
@tonyhawk@BookCameo Are you still doing these? I put in a request and it's about to expire in one day😰 I know you must be incredibly busy but I'm hopeful and grateful! 🙏🙏🙏
Since @ewarren is trying to push the spin that we all need to be reclassified as employees so we can get back the right to choose abortion, I’m re-upping my testimony before @USDOL
Pro tip for @TheDemocrats: FREEDOM OF CHOICE IS ABOUT MORE THAN MY UTERUS

Someone in Europe: I’ll be on annual leave for the next 2 weeks, take care!
Someone in the US: I have surgery scheduled for 9am and will be unavailable until 1pm. Please excuse any typos as I’ll be replying from my iPhone and will be groggy from the anesthesia.
"If the job market is so good, why is gig work thriving?" asks @nytimes. Why indeed!
It's because more and more people, mostly women, CHOOSE #freelance.
We like our freedom & flexibility. Swapping them for "benefits" we don't need is a lousy deal for us.

@Cathy_TwoHalves@dlblumberg@EverydaySexism Oh it’s alive and well. When I used to film weddings my amazing second shooters were predominately male and if anyone had questions they would ask them, not me, who happens to be in charge of the shoot…sigh.
