@anish_koka This would imply lower standards for race inclusion. For this process to be honest skin pigment should have zero bearing on medical school acceptance. The human body once opened is the same for all races of humans. Medicine should be completely agnostic of race ie equal standards
@anish_koka USNA has a complex admissions algorithm that looks at the whole candidate with a metric system for gpa, act, leadership etc… it’s still imperfect but the underlying philosophy makes sense - quantify intangibles to aid filtration in large applicant pools before interviews
@anish_koka Attrition is a tough one. MCAT is likely a predictor to some degree as an indirect measure of support system and true desire for medicine ie it’s hard for most people to get a high score. But it’s still a blunt metric and will have false positives and negatives.
@anish_koka@drterrysimpson You have both underscored how challenging it is to find true predictors of success in medicine. MCAT is a blunt instrument especially if you’re dyslexic. I struggled w/ MCAT but I can revascularize a brain in 12 minutes. I’m glad the board saw my whole app and gave me a shot…
@SalaryDr You will pay more taxes than most professions with similar pay. There are very few deductions for physicians. Also your pay will not follow inflation. You will work harder for less over time. No one will shed a tear for you but will eventually result in human capital flight
@WhiteCoatMarius The MCAT is hard and standardized. For most people doing well on the MCAT is a function of hard work. Working hard is an important facet of actually completing med school and being a physician. It is “one” of the filtering mechanisms of getting into med school.
@Tesla Only reason the cybertruck stalled since launch was political backlash against Elon. It was awesome…then Elon went against woke movement/deep state…try’s to better society and stop fraud => mass hatred propaganda against cybertruck. It’s my favorite vehicle I have owned
@TWShannon 💯 stop suppressing minority populations by telling them they are suppressed. Let them grow and succeed by merit and character not by the color of their skin! I would vote for you @TWShannon !!
@elonmusk 💯 love mine favorite vehicle I have ever owned. It’s a shame it got such bad press and became a political tool when the left attacked Musk for helping our country.
@DrSuneelDhand Oversimplification and over value of ai role. Ai will augment and improve patient care and hopefully help relieve the excessive paperwork burden so work life balance can improve for physicians. Replace is an ignorant term trying to get clicks and commments like I’m doing now lol
@rbarbosa91 The concept is allocation of talent. Human life is our most sacred value in our society. If work life balance is so disturbed in medicine as well as perceived insufficient compensation structure the best and brightest will go elsewhere. It’s just a fact.
@RichDuszak IR here. Woefully ignorant/damaging comments to patient/clinician value perception of radiologists. AI has a great future use case BUT requires careful consideration of clinical use and symbiosis in patient care. Throwing out your highly educated QC is irrational and dangerous
@elonmusk Humans need to work and have purpose. Maybe the definition of purpose will evolve as this is a presentism viewpoint but doesn’t sound good for the human race as a whole….
@cybertruck I agree foundation series owners should get this. We were on the front lines dealing with all of the initial negativity, paid a premium and kept our heads high. That would be a nice gesture to give lifetime supercharging for foundation beast owners.
Greenville County Schools, we believe you may have some explaining to do.
No one celebrating the loss of a human life should be allowed anywhere near children. @gcschools
