The Gov’s new Competitiveness Council advances his vision that our economy needs the firm guidance of “experts” and the State regulating and tweaking continuously to get the results he and those he empowers think best.

Call it stakeholder capitalism, managed technocracy, or simply soviet, his worldview is that small group of experts and the State knows best, that more coordination and just the right regulations and public-private partnerships will reverse our negative economic trends.

It won’t.

The managed economies of Europe, Canada never do as well as freer markets. In Polis’s tenure Colorado has chosen to take a firmer hand to steer our economy. And we’ve gotten the expected results.

Reality always has the last word.

Thousands of individuals making the best decisions for their business always wins, creating an open environment for new ideas, new entrants, greater productivity, opportunity, choice, lower price, etc.

At best, this is a glove on Adam Smith’s invisible hand, controlling the shape, size and movement. Free enterprise only allowed within its confines, and a legislature determined to shape that hand into the state-controlled Dengist ✊.

During the primary, it was curious to see mainstream business groups fight against liberty-oriented candidates, who by principle and practice vigorously defend our Declaration’s self-evident truths, our unalienable rights.

The picture is clearer now; those orgs have made the calculated decision to play along, rather than vigorously defend our entrepreneurs and businesses against the blending of commerce and state, against the increasingly restrictive managed technocracy of benevolent experts so beloved by the Gov.

Currently in a large Democratic City. The food is amazing and we are doing lots of walking but I have seen bumper stickers that say, “Is he dead yet?” and posters on buildings with President Trump depicted as a fascist. It is eye opening to realize how many people in our country are brainwashed by propaganda 💔 The worst part is if you were to try to converse with these people with the truth and facts they would cower away while calling you horrible names. Afraid most of them can’t be saved. All we can do is give it to God and pray they open their eyes someday 🙏
