i'm not on here very often anymore (find me on instagram @sydboll), but i did start a substack and wanted to share: https://t.co/P0MXmOJMRt
it's all about training for a marathon, writing, and the life that happens in between
Hades 2 EA reminded me of one of my favourite essays from it: "Playing Hades-- or what it's like to sit with inadequacy" by @sydboll.
There's still a bunch of copies left and I've just reduced them to £15. That's 150+ pages of great writing and art and it's kind of a steal
so honored to be included in the first issue of GARLAND! i wrote a short story called "sex retreat," which is very funny (although i'm biased)
lots of other great writing about queerness and religion, too! get a copy!!

Death is a tricky subject. They're also a metaphysical being with a scythe and a busy schedule. So busy that all they think about is a vacation, just like the rest of us. Find out if Death fills his quota and gets his vacay in "The Soft Glow of Humanity" by @sydboll out Sunday!

In my inability to not start new things, I am considering starting a podcast!
Anyway - I'd like to have monthly conversations with writers and other creatives who do not get to spend their days on their craft (you have a full-time job, teach to supplement income)
this is a half-brained idea so I'm not promising anything because I still need to work out some of it, but i read about writers all the time and it always seems like they write full time and like... i can't do that so let's make it known that it's normal to have jobs...
