SR 116 is closed in Anderson County as part of the roadway has washed away near Petros due to heavy rains. @myTDOT crews will be performing repairs today.
The Cocke County Highway Department is reporting that the following roads are currently affected by standing water/flooding:
•SR-160
•Holt Hollow Road
•Fowler Grover Road
•Saint Tide Hollow Road
•Clear Creek Road
If you live in portions of eastern Cocke County and western Greene County be cautious for any flooding with your morning commute. We had a stubbornly persistent storm lead to radar estimated 2-4 inches of rain, locally higher amounts up to 5.
Flash flooding in Bat Cave, NC yesterday evening with after very heavy rainfall. While much of the recent rainfall across the area has been beneficial, the flash flooding threat has increased with daily shower and thunderstorm chances.

For the rest of the afternoon/evening through tonight, we will see the transition into sleet and freezing rain! Near midnight some rain will begin to mix in, before turning to all rain after sunrise Sunday! The lingering threat for flash freezing will be a major concern Mon AM!
