@davidrichards It reads as if it was created by a journalist with a reasonable background understanding of SWFC rather than generic LLM generated. That's the biggest hurdle overcome for me. The only real giveaway that it is AI is that it is so polished and deliberate - but is that a weakness?
@galiniche@TWFootball1867 When we submitted our bid this last time we were asked by Wiggin solicitors to approach DC and try to get a deal. I was reluctant to go down that road again but I did so because it is vital to avoid-15. As a result of my negotiating I can confirm that he is very open to a deal.
I know people close to Chansiri, trusted people, and I have it on good authority, and things I have seen and have in my hands, that he was willing to do a deal.
I don't know if something has changed.
I've gone back through the people to ask the question and get a fresh view.
The campaign by the Trust to force Chansiri out should always be remembered as the work primarily of Ian Bennett. He was the face and the voice of the protest and what we achieved behind his leadership we can always be proud of. I know that I am proud to have been there with him.
I want to give my personal thanks to Ian Bennett for his tireless effort, his devotion to our club and for just being an all around good bloke.
Without him the Trust would still be a small, unsupported and largely ignored group. Under his leadership they forced real change #SWFC
"We want to see if we can give you a real mandate to properly represent the fans. How can we get behind you?"
I knew immediately this was a man with pure motives and a good heart. For sure he's rough as a bears backside and sometimes too passionate, but he's a true leader of men
@davidrichards If Ashley genuinely wanted to buy a Championship club to invest and take it to the Premier League he would have done it with Coventry.
If he genuinely wanted to buy Wednesday he would not have let himself be outbid buy three other parties.
@davidrichards Why would he not simply repeat what he did at Coventry? Buy the distressed infrastructure cheaply.
Hold the asset and the supporters to ransom while collecting rent, safely knowing he can sell back to the club once they have new ownership and capital and net millions in profit?
One of the most wholesome moments was the appreciation 3/4 of the ground gave the pretty phenomenal #swfc fans towards the end.
They didn’t moan, boo, or stop singing about their love for a football club who’s been destroyed by arseholes.
Keep it up, Wednesday.
Statement from the Bord consortium #SWFC:
“Throughout the process to purchase Sheffield Wednesday Football Club we have at all times respected the integrity of the process, working professionally, constructively and transparently with the administrator, the EFL and the IFR to provide them with the details they need to satisfy their tests. We have done so in full adherence to the rules applied – including on communicating our involvement, vision and future plans, rather than making any public comments.
“Unfortunately, we have regretfully decided that we must withdraw from the process. Our initial bid had constraints applied on our ability to renegotiate – which is crucial as the figure we offered is significantly higher than that justified by the findings of a lengthy due diligence process.
“Our Consortium has a strong track record of restoring football clubs through financial stability, disciplined management and robust governance. We genuinely believed we could play a positive long-term role as custodians of one of the greatest clubs in English football and wanted to help guide Sheffield Wednesday towards a brighter future.
“While we leave this process with a sense of regret, our admiration for the Club and its supporters remains undiminished, and it will always hold a special place in our hearts.”
@BuildsByKB So many football people speak highly of him. It seems odd to say given our record, but it really could/should have been much worse. We have only got hammered once (Coventry). That's actually less than many seasons where we have had a competetive team.
Can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with everything Chris Wilder says. Very honest, balanced and hopefully informative words. #SWFC
