🇱🇾 After a decade in power, Libyan HoR Speaker Agila Saleh faces an immediate vote on his removal.
With Saddam Haftar consolidating power, and Khalifa Haftar backing a U.S.-led political initiative, eastern Libya’s coalition is fracturing over Saleh's obstruction:

🚨‼️NEW | A dangerous escalation—and potentially an important first for Libya.
A suspected fibre-optic-guided drone entered the airspace over Brega Petroleum Marketing Company’s Airport Road fuel depot in Tripoli during the early hours of today and crashed near its storage tanks. The facility holds diesel, petrol, LPG and aviation fuel. No fire, casualties or material damage were reported. Libya may have narrowly avoided a major disaster.
The incident takes the recent drone threat beyond Zawiya, where multiple energy facilities were struck last month.
Local reports claim that electronic-warfare systems disabled the drone and brought it down. That account remains unverified. Brega’s official statement confirms only that a suspected drone entered the depot’s airspace and crashed near a storage tank; it does not establish why it fell.
Images from the site show what appear to be long coils of fibre-optic cable. Drones guided through such cables are specifically designed to bypass conventional radio-frequency jamming, making the interception claim technically exceptional.
If a technical examination confirms that the drone was deliberately intercepted, this may represent the first documented successful neutralisation of this drone type in Libya—and a significant breakthrough in protecting critical infrastructure.
Until then, a technical malfunction or loss of control cannot be ruled out.
The decisive question is no longer whether the drone fell, but why: has Libya found a way to stop this emerging generation of attack drones—or did a critical energy facility escape catastrophe merely by chance?

Libya Finds Missile Debris Near Oil Pipeline After Fire Damage
Libya’s interior ministry said they recovered exploded projectiles near the Sharara oil pipeline after a fire disrupted flows, forcing rerouting and shutting El Feel output.

Our aircraft observed a damaged Russian tanker drifting unmanned through the Mediterranean for weeks: hundreds of tonnes of oil, an environmental bomb. The Libyan state had to hire a private firm to deal with it. The further south it drifts, the less Europe acts. Sounds familiar?
Akakus Oil Operations manages the Sharara oil field sharing agreement between Libya’s National Oil Corporation, Spain’s Repsol, France’s Total, Austria’s OMV and Norway’s Equinor.

This is big. And if it goes ahead would push Libya within touching distance of its 2mn b/d crude target
⚠️ Confirmed: Live metrics show a disruption to internet connectivity in #Libya, corroborating local reports of telecoms blackouts; the incident comes amid escalating conflict and deadly clashes with protesters calling for the overthrow of the interim Government of National Unity
Protesters are being dispersed & shot at with live ammunition by GNU-aligned forces in Martyrs Square & near the GNU HQ in Treeg al-Sikka.
Given the scale of public anger & tonight’s escalation, it’s hard to see how the GNU PM survives politically, let alone remains in power.
#Libya BREAKING: Trump negotiating for Libya to take up to 1 million Palestinians. In exchange, US would back UN unfreezing Libya's sovereign wealth fund. (It will put spotlight on Libyan migrant-smuggling to Europe if it happens)
Russia moving naval assets to Libya while pressuring Haftar for a port should shatter any US illusions of prying him from Moscow’s grip. That Russia moved assets there at all shows how firmly Haftar is theirs...
Yet the delusion of peeling him away remains a pillar of US policy.
Big news: long-awaited arrest warrants for crimes in Tarhouna finally made public. It’s a long road to justice but this presents a viable pathway to accountability.
