Because that is the one that prevents society from exercising our will. Land monopoly alone enslaves society. ONLY land is biologically vital daily to all.

@wnavarre @TaxLandNotMan @maireid George talks about monopolies. Land is not the only monopoly. So to suggest "Tax land only" doesn't really address the thrust of George's argument in Progress and Poverty, as it'll allow monopolies on other necessities to suck away income and perpetuate poverty.

@wnavarre @TaxLandNotMan @maireid It's also a mistake to think that fully taxing land reduces *rents*. It doesn't. Citizens will still be competing for land for housing, business and agriculture. Without compensating them for their lack of equal right to land, then there will still be poverty, not progress.
