Did you know #Apple did not develop any of the fundamental technologies that makes up the #iPhone? And did you know #Capitalism is really bad at developing new technology? Yet corporations end up making billions.. How is that possible?

#capitalism has a tendency to destroy #democracy, as this video will explain. Not only is the way how capitalism organizes the #economy undemocratic, it also weakens political democracy.

#Brazil's new president, Jair #Bolsonaro, is about to take office. A new wave of #neoliberalism might sweep Brazil, because his economic team consists of right-wing neoliberal fanatics. What damage will they do to Brazil's #economy and its people?

@farazmfateh You are right. Unfortunately economists tend to focus too much on macroeconomic numbers instead of looking at poverty, access to healthcare, quality of life etc. A bigger pie does not mean bigger pieces for everyone!
Wealth inequality is a profound moral issue this country must address. The richest 3 Americans cannot continue owning more wealth than the bottom half of our country, while over 40% cannot afford the basics to live.
@VanceGinn#Socialism means workers together run businesses. #capitalism means 1 person at the top owns and decides everything and everyone else obeys. Capitalism creates #inequality.
@adchick22 @SenateGOP@JohnBoozman@GOP You are right, they dont care. What they do care about is empire building and profits for their real constituency: the corporate sector
@kaiwhakamahi_ @McKenzieAl@SimeonBrownMP Indeed, and the democrats are not much different unfortunately. Whenever political parties become dependent on corporate money they will talk the #neoliberal line
#capitalism creates #inequality. #jordanpeterson however, thinks capitalism is not to blame. Read here a strong critique of Peterson's views on capitalism and inequality.

@SalmonaKayak@TreiberS @WalkerBragman Shocking statistics. Although #neoliberalism is usually seen as a upperclass project to further their own interests, the upper classes are predominantly white, making racial inequalities even worse.
@npdrifter Great news. Too bad #Obrador is already been branded as an authoritarian #populist, although it is predictable. Any leader who comes up for the rights of people can count on little support from foreign investors, big corporations and the Western media.
