@alicethenobody yea that’s the thing ! a lot of people don’t really discuss the misogyny in the show outside of ichimonji, like the fact that the rider girls are deliberately written to be incompetent should probably be a bigger sticking point instead of judging a character diagetically

@alicethenobody oh for sure i don’t view that as a core part of his character either and i get viewing it as out of character for him.

i also prefer tv show canon for how hongo and ichimonji met as well, the idea of their little motorcycle meetcute is really sweet

@alicethenobody conceptually i actually don’t mind it very much. interpreting a character with misogynistic writing in the source material as misogynistic in a different kind of way in a reboot is something i think could be very interesting
