The North America Nebula region in Cygnus
I used an unmodified Canon 80D with a 50mm lens on a tripod. I took 1517 shots at f/2.8, ISO1600, 2.5 seconds each, a bit over 63 minutes in total.
This is not a perfect image by any means, but it is my best astrophoto yet in all regards.

Got accepted at my uni's media group for photography. I'm cautiously optimistic, but hopefully it will be more beneficial for both sides than my last gig at the previous uni.
And hopefully in aspects as well, other than just photos related stuff.
We'll see.

@JustinPetrossi Glad you like it! Its cropped to around 170mm, but i think its a bit more interesting in widefield. Puts more emphasis on the scale of space. I would have tried with 300mm, but tracking is already at its limits.
Pleiades and orion will be a real challenge to shoot closeups of.

I wasn't planning on making a picture of Andromeda, just wanted to test how far I could push my mount with a more demanding setup. The tracking held up better than expected, so I ended up with 1 hour of data and this result.

An experimental image of the Andromeda Galaxy to see how far I can go without tracking.

I'm happy with the result. Both satellite galaxies are noticeable, and more structure than I expected.

Space around the North Star looks empty, but its filled with clouds of dust and gas. They don't have nearby stars to light them up, so they reflect the combined light coming from billions of stars across our galaxy.

I was recently lent a staradventurer, and was at a bortle 3/4 location just around the solar eclipse. I put it to the test for two nights, captured about 3 hours of data for each of these pictures. They are mostly unprocessed, viewed with mild and aggressive autostretch on them.

Late summer zenith

As the summer ends, Cygnus rises to the zenith in the early night. My latest image is a wide view of the Milky Way, from the sea of faint interstellar dust and gas in Cepheus, to the Great Rift in Cygnus.

these are fighting me hard, especially the second one. i think this is the first time im somewhat disappointed with the amount of detail i can pull out considering the difference in lightframe quality that i assumed

@JustinPetrossi well if its good enough its good enough. i saw the one you posted, i dont think it really needs more processing or fancier composition to be honest
personally i try to bring out as much detail as i can from my shots, i just find it an interesting challenge
