Today we had an outage that ran for 3h42m, affecting 4.92% of our customers. All systems in us-east-2 were affected.

I'm sorry to everyone affected. There is no good excuse - you trust us with your infra and we need to do better.

We already have mitigations in place and we're working on a post-mortem. We will post it in the next 12 hours.

we are looking for someone to lead CLI development at @supabase

this is becoming one of the most critical interfaces for devs/agents

tag the best Go dev that you know and if we hire them I'll give you $1,000 of Supabase credits

They don't need CLI experience, they just need to have a good product sense. My pitch for Supabase:

◆ we're open source
◆ we don't do geo-adjusted pay
◆ we have an async work culture
◆ most engineers have 1 meeting per week
◆ we're full distributed across 50 countries
◆ we power the world's fasted growing companies

I’m no longer with https://t.co/s2rczBbxTP—what an incredible ride it was!

With new experiences in DevRel and techs like Ollama, JS, and Phoenix LiveView, I’m excited to be back on the market!

As usual, I'll miss the great people I worked with most!

New Demo: Pawsitively – LLM content moderation API in 50 LOC, including the entire Phoenix app. Plus a LiveView front-end to play with it.

Implemented and deployed entirely as a livebook! 🧵

One of Fly's most powerful, less-talked about features is domains.

You've probably seen the *.fly.dev domain, but did you know all apps have *.internal and *.flycast domains? Do you know what they do?

Watch & learn in just 5 minutes and 6 seconds.

[Annie Sexton @_anniebabannie_]

https://t.co/tWiUCs38pI has some nifty domains that give you control over the network pathway of your requests. Got an app that's private? No problem. Want to route a request to a specific Machine? No problem.

Air Bender Annie says go watch the video. Link in thread!

💡If you use LLMs for language translations, check out my video on how I integrated a locally hosted Ollama model with the MacOS Shortcuts app to make translating text as easy as highlighting and invoking a shortcut. 🎬✨

YouTube doesn’t allow . characters in channel names. If your parents are like mine and gave you a domain for a name you’ll have to get creative.

Anybody want to guess how I did it? 😅

What makes Fly different is we manage the servers for you.

All you do is run `fly launch` from the root of your project, then we take your Dockerfile (or generate one for you) and run it as a Firecracker VM on our very own bare metal servers.

Waaay less layers and moving parts.

Got a request to your app but it went to the wrong place? Move it around with fly-replay! https://t.co/umBh1PnR9V

Take a listen if you would like to learn what it takes to implement Kubernetes on top of VMs — the Fly Machines.

Your ears aren't deceiving you, we've got a podcast now courtesy of the DevRel team! @senyeezus, @szymonmentel, Roman and Donatas kick it off with some behind the scenes fun about how the Fly #Kubernetes service (FKS) works. Take a listen👂💥🤯
