Your idealistic fantasy hasn't existed for the last 25-years. No, it's drug running, human trafficking, and anchor baby's, these days. Most of the deaths have nothing to do with Border Patrol or other US Law Enforcement agencies. They are due to people drowning while crossing the Rio Grande, being left (abandoned) in 40'-60' trailers, baked to death, or left in very remote areas by their guides.
