Infielders:
Keep your chest forward when attacking the ball.
Get your eyes and nose behind your glove on the catch.
Keep your back flat.
Get IN the action.
You want to be under control, but under control doesn’t mean standing still.
Move your feet through the catch.
The catch isn’t the end of the play.
Good infielders catch the ball.
Great infielders catch the ball with rhythm, transfer, and throw
Your body movement creates your bat path.
He stays coiled over the back leg while moving forward under control. Then he rotates from the middle as the front foot lands, and the barrel can slot earlier, stay on plane longer, and produce more consistent damage.
My JUCO coach used to say: “See ball. Hit ball.”
Simple.
Most hitters think they have a TIMING problem.
Often, they have a Movement problem
When Movement flow is off, vision becomes unstable
When vision becomes unstable, timing suffers
Better Movement = Vision = Timing!
