The claim that Ugandans who returned from South Africa due to rising homophobia were forcefully recruited into the UPDF is false and misleading.

They were invited to NALI, a patriotism and leadership training centre, where they are receiving lectures on various aspects of national development, leadership, and civic responsibility.

The participants are happy to be there and have even expressed their desire for the training period to be extended.

Otherwise, if it was true, you wouldn’t be seeing their hair still on. The mighty UPDF is not an army one simply walks into, it is a disciplined and respected armed force built on commitment, patriotism, and service and under the command of Gen. @mkainerugaba, the force continues to uphold its standards.
