one of my favorite things abt being intro’d for readings is when the organizer reads the part of my bio abt my Scream chapbook & interrupts themself mid sentence to say they really need to read that book 👻
experienced my first disability discrimination moment as a diabetic last night @BrooklynMirage where one of the security people yelled at me for bringing my insulin to a concert & then confiscated the fruit snacks I carry to manage emergency low blood sugars. super cool 😎
thinking again about how “plague of frogs” in Hebrew is actually “plague of FROG,” and how the rabbis took this to mean that Pharaoh was terrorized by a single enormous frog
my second poetry book turned 5 today. so grateful for the life these poems have had so far. big shout out to all the service industry artists who are able to find joy in the work they do to pay the bills 🙌🏽
@cocoazafreen all cute, all worthwhile. I got my haircut Tuesday and for the first time in my adult life did not re-up on bangs? my motives are secret even from myself
@marinaweiss Marty McConnell! aka @martyoutloud I saw her read an hour set of tarot poems when I was in college & it changed my brain. she has several excellent collections & tarot lives throughout. I highly recommend anything of hers, including her workshop leader workbook with @YesYesBooks
@Amtrak I messaged your customer support more than two weeks ago with my information & still haven’t gotten a response. thanks for pretending to care in public & doing absolutely nothing to make this right
very cool of @Amtrak to overload my train out of New York w passengers from a previous train so that there’s no seats for at least 4 dozen passengers who paid to be on this specific train. will I get a refund for having to stand all the way to New Haven? can’t wait to find out
