It’s actually funny that once upon a time a general got an accident not so far from Kampala and a military helicopter was sent to airlift him to a hospital, but a school bus crashes in Kapchorwa and these helicopters are nowhere to be seen.
Recommendations for the Ugandan Ministry of Education to Consider
All schools should start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. If schools must continue closing at 5:00 p.m., then no homework should be assigned to students from Monday to Friday.
There should be no holiday homework during the first- and second-term holidays. These three weeks should be designated as rest periods, with every student required to return to school with a presentation on what they learned independently during the holidays.
Every school must implement an approved mental health awareness program.
All school requirements must be included in the school fees structure. Any other additional fees should be considered optional and not mandatory for parents to pay.
What have i missed?
Earlier today, the Archbishop of the @ChurchofUganda_ , The Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, paid a courtesy prayer visit to the home of Mr. Nehemiah and Hon. Miria Matembe in Luzira following her release from detention.
The visit came after religious leaders under the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU) met with the President at State House, Entebbe, on Tuesday, where they expressed growing public concern over human rights violations, including the continued detention of political prisoners. The meeting followed a similar engagement with the President held last week on Thursday.
According to @Archbp_COU , the religious leaders will continue engaging in dialogue with the President to promote respect for human rights, the rule of law, and greater freedom for all Ugandans.
This man is married to Miria Matembe who served on the Uganda Constitutional Commission in 1989. She is now facing charges of “sectarianism”. Seeing someone of his stature in court says a lot how our country pays retired public servants.
"Uganda Vs Miria Matembe"
Count me outta that rubbish!
I refuse to carry that blood on my shoulder.
Woman spent her youthful age fighting to see that I study, have a voice and have representation and now you count me in that Uganda, no no no count me out
Uganda versus Miria Matembe? I am not among those Ugandans on whose behalf you claim to be pressing charges against Hon. Miria Matembe. I hold her in the highest respect.
#IStandWithMiriaMatembe
I keep Wondering How Women are supposed to work 9-5, drop the kids off at school at 8 AM, pick them up by 3 PM, stay on top of school activities, meal prep, cook dinner, keep the house clean, do the laundry, run the kids to extracurricular activities, climb the corporate ladder, save sick days for when the kids are sick, be a good friend, daughter, and partner, all while trying to take care of their own body and mental health…??🤔🙆♂️😭
A big part of actualizing as a woman is coming to terms with your physical characteristics and your natural style and not wishing you could look like someone else.
