@OnJambos41038@Nick_Metcalfe England Netherlands finished around 11 local time. Didn’t get back to my hotel in Düsseldorf till 4:30am. Getting to the stadium took my about an hr and 30 total
@DanielT29 So we’re not mentioning Liverpool playing a flat 4-4-2 against a diamond? And the change being going to 3-5-1-1 to match up with their diamond? But na, agenda must agend
@AliMaxwell_@Ankaman616 Great points. Think similar issues were there under Southgate. Not enough runners around Kane, too many “to feet” players.
I still believe Eng played their best football under Southgate after 2018 WC with Sterling and Rashford/Sancho starting either side of Kane and no no.10
@RohanJivanAFC The fact that Arsenal players spoke about going toe to toe with PSG being dangerous and they could’ve conceded 4-5 speaks volumes. They set up not like one of the best teams in the world but as a plucky underdog who had no business sharing a pitch with PSG.
@RohanJivanAFC This ain’t American football, the 2 go hand in hand. Yes Arsenal were ahead and are the best in the world defensively but defending that deep and going long, you’re killing yourself mentally with that approach.
@KehindeG4@diggersleftpeg Now please show where Cup Winners Cup which was abolished in 1999 merged with the UEFA Cup to become Europa League. The stage is yours
@KehindeG4@diggersleftpeg Cup Winners Cup was abolished in 1999. Europa League was a rebrand in 2009 following a merger with the Intertoto Cup, not Cup Winners Cup.
@KehindeG4@diggersleftpeg Arsenal won a competition created to promote international trade fairs. It was never organised by UEFA. Cities were only allowed to enter one team with a London XI at one point. That’s not a serious competition regardless what it evolved to be after UEFA took over
@Zonal_Marking Injuries played a part, but Arsenal’s attacking ideas haven’t improved since 23/24. Once the style got figured out, Arteta never rebuilt the attack. It’s a “don’t lose” side, not a “go win” one. You can only win so many titles/trophies scoring 39 open-play goals.
Also, factor in game state. Of course we’ll have more of the ball when teams have been setting up to counter against us and been effective at it for over 12 months now
This is the rubbish you come up with when you forget the football is played by human beings, coached by human beings and played in front of 60,000 human beings every other Saturday.
Ask yourself WHY we have so much possession and such terrible chance creation
You can be sure that next season will be better from a Liverpool perspective for literally one reason. In 80% of the games we have lost, we have dominated possession, had more box entries & created more chances than the opposition. What has been missing more than anything else is quality chance creation, we leads you back to balance of profiles we have in our frontlines.
Dominating in key statistics such as these point to a team that has a very good process, but lacks certain key attributes to make it count. Don’t believe me? Well, despite all of the noise you’ve heard about us being bad, for the first time in Slot’s era we have only just started conceding more chances than we create. Why? Well, look at who’s been on the pitch these past 5 games. (XG average below).
