@aipworkfarmhome see? this just proves the point we are both trying to make. this is exactly how easy it is for things to be misunderstood, kaya nga talagang dapat marunong muna maghinay-hinay bago manghusga o magalit.
@atiradldump what you call โneutralityโ (imo I don't think it is) can sometimes be strategic restraint, or an attempt to persuade rather than merely condemn. Like it or not, shaming and alienating those on the other side do not strengthen our cause. This is why we lose so god damn always.
@aipworkfarmhome So yes โ hindi mo rin alam ang pinagdaanan ko at ng pamilya ko. That is precisely why people should stop assuming that everyone arrives at their views from the same experiences, losses, or fears.
@aipworkfarmhome Just as I do not know the full extent of your familyโs pain and circumstances, you also don't know mine. My uncle was gunned down in broad daylight while he was riding a tricycle. 13 bullets were taken from his lifeless body. At worst, he was merely alleged to have been using.
6/ Political choices are shaped by class, environment, fear, & people's individual circumstances. Understanding that is not the same as excusing what those conditions produced. Explaining why people support Duterte is not the same as justifying what happened under his watch.
1/ One of the biggest mistakes in political discourse is assuming every Duterte supporter must therefore be immoral, apathetic, or devoid of conscience. Reality is usually more complicated โ and more inconvenient โ than that.
5/ When people are preoccupied with food, rent, & safety, they gravitate toward whatever they believe improved those conditions. That's not the same as celebrating violence or feeling nothing for victims. It means their attention was consumed by problems that felt urgent to them
@stylesatellite@poppym00re for me, I try to look past the stance and focus on the reasoning behind it โ the values, motivations, assumptions, experiences, and the way they arrived at that position. Even if the premises they cite are flawed, I consider why it has become that way and whose fault that is.
@eto_tome@jeBi3_@WinGatchalian74 you cannot say "boom, fake lahat" How many claims are there in total? How many claims out of the total claims did you personally fact-check? And how many claims did you doubt the veracity of? How many among these claims had FB posts or comments in the manner you described?
It's not simply about which side someone supports. Itโs the reasoning behind it โ the values, motivations, assumptions, experiences, and how they arrived at that position โ which would say a lot about them. Even people who support the same side can do so for different reasons.
@cheffiesyu i would say na itโs the reasoning behind the stance โ the values, motivations, assumptions, lived experiences, and the way they arrived at that position โ which would say a lot about them. Even people who support the same candidate can do so for completely different reasons.
