-Estimated funds affected: approximately $351.6 million
-Cold wallets remain fully secure. Bitget operates a three-tier wallet architecture — the breach contained only a portion of the hot wallet and warm wallet layers.
-User funds are safe. The full amount of this loss falls within the coverage of Bitget's User Protection Fund, which currently holds over $464 million

Actions we have taken:
-Emergency response team activated within minutes of detection
-Abnormal transfer addresses identified, flagged, and reported
-Withdrawals temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure, pending security review
-Law enforcement and on-chain security firms have been formally notified and are engaged

What this means for you:
-Your account balances are accurate and your assets are protected
-Deposits and trading remain fully operational
Withdrawals are temporarily paused and will be restored as soon as the security review is complete
-What comes next: We will provide updates on an hourly basis across this channel and all official platforms. We're continuing a large-scale security review of the Bitcoin open-source ecosystem.

25 Bitcoin developers around the world have been working on this task non-stop for 108 hours.

When Gensler left the SEC in January 2025, Bitcoin was at 109k. Today Bitcoin is at 75k.

One major reason the crypto markets have suffered is because market participants started to lose faith in the industry itself.

After Gensler left, it essentially just opened the floodgates to the grifting age of crypto, where influencers and politicians were launching memecoins and rug-pulling their followers each and every day, without fear of any repercussions. This led to a massive misallocation of capital into useless assets that drained liquidity from the industry.

While people celebrated Gensler leaving, it actually marked a turning point in the industry, with Bitcoin only marginally going higher before entering a bear market.

Now that people celebrate Powell's removal as chair of the Federal Reserve, it makes me think history will repeat itself once again.

People celebrate it in the short-term, but as we look back on this era in a few years, I imagine it will mark a major turning point in credibility at the Fed. If the Fed just becomes another cabinet of the executive branch, it may lead to a lack of trust in the institution itself.

Perhaps many will look back in a few years and realize that markets were better off with Powell than without him.

Anthropic leaked 512,000 lines of Claude Code source code yesterday.

What happened in the next 12 hours is absolutely wild.

4 AM. Anthropic pushes an update to npm. Inside the package: their entire codebase. A 60 MB debugging file accidentally bundled in.

23 minutes later, researcher Chaofan Shou spots it. Downloads the zip.

Posts it on X. Within 6 hours: 3 million views.

By the time Anthropic’s team woke up, the code was forked 41,000+ times across GitHub. Anthropic started firing DMCA takedowns. Too late.

A Korean developer named Sigrid Jin woke up to his phone exploding. He’s Claude Code’s biggest power user.

WSJ reported he burned through 25 billion tokens last year.

He read the leaked code.

Rewrote the entire thing in Python in 8 hours. His repo hit 30,000 stars faster than any GitHub project in history.

Then he rewrote it again in Rust. That version now has 49,000 stars.

Someone mirrored it to a decentralized platform with one message: “will never be taken down.” The code is permanent. Anthropic cannot get it back.

Here’s the part I can’t stop thinking about: Anthropic built something called “Undercover Mode.” Its only job: prevent Claude from accidentally leaking internal secrets.

They shipped an entire anti-leak system in their own product. Then leaked their own source code in a .map file. Irony is beautiful

오늘 아침 지하철 타고 오면서 커뮤니티에서 댓글 하나를 봤다.

"미국 같은 경우는 대학 가기 한참 전부터 프롬프트 엔지니어링 공부하고 AI랑 계속 맞부딪히면서 단련하고 있는데, 뭐 개네는 중딩 고딩에 그 틀을 다 완성하고 나서 그러고 있는 거임?"

그 아래 달린 두 번째 댓글이 더 뼈를 때렸다.

"결국은 모든 게 준비되고 나서 뭘 해야 한다는 편집증적 완벽주의의 연장선으로밖에 안 보임. 이런 조건이 완성되기 전까진 결혼 안 할 거다, 출산 안 할 거다 이러는 현재 사회상이랑 정확히 일치함. 결국 그 말로는 어떻게 됐지?"

이 두 문장을 읽고 고속터미널 역에서 곰곰히 생각을 해봤다.

틀린 말이 하나도 없어서.

글로벌 기업 AI 코딩 도구 도입률 63%. 그 중 64%는 코드의 절반 이상을 AI로 만든다.

AI 도입 후 주니어 직원 수 변화 7~12% 감소. 시니어 직원: 6% 증가.

미국 중고등학생 AI 도구 사용률 10대의 상당수가 이미 AI로 과제 요약, 이미지 생성, 뉴스 소비를 한다.

세상은 이미 나뉘고 있다. AI를 쓰는 사람과 안 쓰는 사람이 아니라, AI를 언제부터 써왔는가로.

완벽주의라는 이름의 마취제다.

"준비가 되면 한다"는 말은 뇌에 매우 안전하게 느껴진다. 불안을 즉시 해소한다. 결정을 미루는 대신 "계획 중"이라는 상태에 놓이기 때문에, 아무것도 안 하면서도 죄책감을 느끼지 않는다.

문제는 준비가 완성되는 날은 오지 않는다는 것이다.

결혼도 그랬다. 집 살 때까지, 연봉이 얼마 될 때까지, 상황이 안정되면. 그 조건들이 다 채워지는 날이 왔는가?

AI도 똑같이 흘러가고 있다.

"gpt plus 쓰기 전에 기본부터 공부해야 하는 거 아냐?" "클로드가 뭔지 제대로 알고 나서 써야지." "지금 업무가 바빠서 익숙해지면 배울게."

그러는 동안 미국 중학생은 이미 컨텍스트 엔지니어링 경험이 2~3년 쌓이고 있다.

진짜 무서운 건 AI가 아니다

사람들이 "AI 무섭다"고 말할 때, 실제로 두려운 게 뭔지 들여다보면 대부분 AI가 아니다.

우리가 두려운 건 세 가지다

첫째, 못하는 나를 보는 것. AI 앞에서 멍청해 보이고 싶지 않다. 처음엔 누구나 어색한데, 그 어색함을 견디기 싫어서 시작을 안 한다.

둘째, 뒤처진 줄 알면서도 확인하기 싫은 것. 이미 늦었다는 사실을 직면하는 순간이 두렵다. 그래서 "아직 시작 안 했지만 시작하면 할 수 있어"라는 믿음을 유지하려 한다.

셋째, 변화 자체. 익숙한 방식이 무너지는 것에 대한 원초적 공포. 이건 AI에만 해당하지 않는다. 인터넷이 나왔을 때도, 스마트폰이 나왔을 때도 같은 말이 있었다. "그거 다 아는 사람한테 시키면 되지."

그렇게 말한 사람들이 지금 어디 있는지 생각해보자.

격차는 선형이 아니라 지수로 벌어진다

2년 전부터 AI를 쓴 사람과 지금 시작하는 사람의 차이가 2년치가 아니다.

AI를 써온 사람은 AI를 쓰면서 더 빨리 성장한다. 에이전트 하나가 정보 수집을 대신하고, 코드 작성을 대신하고, 분석을 대신한다. 그 시간으로 다음 단계를 밟는다.

AI를 안 쓰는 사람은 같은 속도로 걷는다.

그래서 지금 뭘 해야 하는가

완벽하게 이해하고 시작할 필요 없다.

처음 gpt를 쓸 때 "이게 어떻게 작동하는지 다 알아야지"라고 할 필요가 없다. 처음 자동차를 탈 때 엔진 구조를 몰라도 됐던 것처럼.

그냥 써라. 어색하게. 멍청하게. 처음에는 당연히 그렇다.

미국 중학생들이 지금 하고 있는 게 그거다. 정답을 알아서 쓰는 게 아니라, 틀리면서 배우고 있는 것이다. 그 2~3년의 '틀린 경험'이 결국 세계와의 격차로 나온다.

준비되면 시작하려고 기다리는 동안 그 사람들은 이미 실패를 여러 번 하고 다음 단계로 넘어가고 있다.

그 질문의 답을, 5년 후에 AI 앞에서 하게 될지 모른다.

South Korea’s ruling party wants to apply ownership caps to CEXs like Upbit and Bithumb. Insane.

South Korea is currently debating a “Digital Asset Basic Act Phase 2” similar to the US Crypto Market Structure Bill, which aims to clearly define crypto. The ruling party and the opposition are clashing hard over it.

The biggest controversy right now is exchange ownership limits.

The ruling Democratic Party has officially announced that it will include exchange ownership caps in the bill.

Their justification is that under Korea’s Capital Markets Act, major shareholders of ATS platforms are capped at 15% ownership.

In other words, they are treating CEXs as a type of ATS and arguing that ownership limits are necessary for fairness.

If this bill passes, major shareholders of all five major Korean CEXs (Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone, Korbit, and Gopax) would be forced to sell anywhere from 5 to 58%.

This is especially wild given that large Korean corporations like Naver Financial and Mirae Asset have recently been exploring acquisitions of Upbit and Korbit respectively. Ownership caps would have a massive impact on M&A activities.

The opposition party strongly opposes this. For a capitalist country to force the sale of ownership in companies that have already grown to massive scale feels no different from socialism.
