🇪🇺🇬🇧🇺🇦 Western Allies Agree on Ceasefire Terms in Ukraine and Peacekeeping Mission
Sir Keir Starmer held a virtual meeting with leaders from 29 nations to discuss the formation of a multinational peacekeeping force in Ukraine.
A peacekeeping contingent of over 10,000 troops is being assembled, with the UK and France making the most significant contributions.
35 countries have pledged to support the mission by providing weapons, logistics, and intelligence assistance. The mission, described as a “deterrence force,” aims to prevent a new Russian invasion.
Military leaders from around the world will meet this week in London to finalize operational planning for the mission.
Keir Starmer’s Statement:
“Sooner or later, Putin will have to come to the negotiating table. It is time to stop the shelling, end the barbaric attacks on Ukraine, and agree to a ceasefire without any territorial concessions from Ukraine.”
Next Steps:
✅ Strengthening diplomatic efforts to establish long-term security guarantees and peace.
✅ Operational planning of the peacekeeping mission, defining its functions and responsibilities.
✅ Maintaining pressure on Russia to force it into agreeing to a ceasefire without territorial compromises.
