We came across a luna moth. They hatch, reproduce, and then they die. They accomplish nothing and serve no purpose in the precious few hours they are on this planet - but they are, oh, so beautiful.

And that is more than enough. We should all be so lucky.

My most remarkable find from last week. Well scavenging another’s cast off. Found in a hedgerow in a remote spot on Somme. German has mask filter. Dry sandy soil has preserved it amazingly. It’s solid. Another tangible reminder. The Somme is so special.#somme
