what a shame it would be to spend your life dreaming about what you could become and then retreat the moment the pursuit begins asking something serious of you. you wanted to find out what was possible. well, here you are. don’t flinch now.
Getting rid of Christmas junk gets way easier if we return to the 4-gift Christmas
"Something you want, something you need, something to wear, something to read" will always reign supreme
Have a good week everyone and remember: Embarrassment only exists because we mistake vulnerability for humiliation. There’s nothing inherently shameful about trying, caring, reaching out, or being seen. We give other people’s perceptions far too much power over our existence.x
It has to work out… because i want spontaneous trips, slow mornings, a beautiful home, time for my hobbies, and a life that doesn't revolve around weekends.
"fuck it we ball" is for stress about the future, "it is what it is" is for stress about the past and "this too shall pass" is for stress about the present
Underrated life advice: Be careful what you normalize just because everyone else does it. Complaining about your spouse. Being glued to your phone. Hating Mondays. Creating drama. Spending money you don’t have. The worst habits always come with plenty of company. Avoid the trap.
"i cant carry it for you, but i can carry you" is probably the most romantic line i have ever heard in any piece of media. Maybe next to "in another life, i would have really liked just doing laundry and taxes with you"
that girl that commented “it only has to make sense to me” ate that shit up sm bc I live by that now like no it literally only has to make sense to me & me only
you have to try or you’ll be stuck in a vicious circle of what ifs, never doing anything & eternal regret. life doesn’t stop until you die & every new second is a new opportunity. if life can change for the worst in one second, why can’t it also change for the best in one second?
Everything is hard. Nothing works the first time. It all feels pointless. That’s when you realize you’re going to have to will it into existence with every ounce of your fucking soul. And that’s when it starts to happen.
I learnt that if you want to be really successful in anything, you must execute & move on quickly. You can’t sit on ideas for too long or u start to sabotage but you can’t also stay w things for too long. You acknowledge the mistake & move on so quick it’s like it never happened.
some of the best advice I’ve ever heard:
optimize your tolerance for uncertainty because everything good you want in life comes from overcoming fear, tolerating boredom, and becoming comfortable with discomfort.
This is tweet of the month. If you find yourself ruminating repeatedly, it means your resources are not allocated correctly. You are wasting your brain's computation. Most of your time should be spent solving problems according to your goals.
If you are ruminating without working on a specific problem, you are like a badly written software program that chokes on memory. Most of your calculations are worthless.
Find ways to spend as much of your living time as possible solving defined problems with observable outcomes. If a problem is not well-defined, it should be. That will also cut rumination time (optimize your software).
