Been dealing with a brain fog in the last few months, one thing didn't expect to face in this path hahah, but yup, every stage has its challenges.
The real truth about the freelance/indepdent life
The freelance path isn’t easy, even though from a distance, it might look like it is. Especially when you see someone who's doing well, with clients lining up and maybe even running an agency with a team doing all the tasks he once had to handle alone. But people don’t see the beginning, the sleepless nights, the learning curve, the burnout, the hustle it takes to get there.
Personally, over the past three months, I’ve been dealing with something called “brain fog.” It’s exactly what it sounds like, a foggy brain. My thinking slowed down, my memory got weak, and I started to feel completely disconnected from the world… and eventually, I was disconnected. I wouldn’t answer calls or reply to messages, not because I didn’t care, but because my mind was too tired to speak.
At first, I didn’t notice it. I thought it was just because I was too focused, thinking about work 24/7, even while sleeping. But a week ago, I realized my productivity had dropped a lot. I tried to recall how I used to work just a few months back, how I was operating at my best… but I simply couldn’t remember.
I did some research and found out it was brain fog, the brain’s way of reacting to long-term pressure and exhaustion. Sometimes it's caused by physical issues, sometimes mental burnout, sometimes even post-COVID effects. Either way, it’s real.
There were so many days I felt like quitting. I asked myself, “Why did I choose this path?” A path that made me sick, that made people around me feel like I didn’t care, that made me ignore phone calls because my brain couldn’t handle a single conversation. But then I always remember this one quote: “If you do the right steps long enough, you will eventually succeed.” Most people take the steps, but they don’t do them long enough.
Throughout my life, I’ve always taken the right steps. But I’d stop after a week or two. This is the first time I’ve been consistent for about ten months… and I’m finally seeing results. I’m finally understanding what it really takes.
The path to freedom has a price, and sometimes it’s a heavy one. There’s no boss to wake you up, no one to punish you when you slack off. You have to be everything: the boss, the worker, the motivator… even your own friend. You have to think about everything, the future, your time, your next steps. In other paths, you can leave work at 5 PM and forget about it. In this path, if you forget your work your work will forget you.
I don’t know how long it’ll take… or how much work and energy I’ll need to give. Not just to “make it” but to get to a point where I can finally say: “Work time is over… now it’s time for family, friends, and yourself.”
So yeah, if you want to take this path, you must be ready to what's coming, and be aware of what it takes to make it..

@HamasAtrocities On the other side, they only use technology and airplanes to bomb civilians, they should not be cowards and come face them men to men ;)
I started taking X seriously for three days, and I got banned for two months, why?
Because I took it so hard that they thought I'm a bot.
And I literally did everything manually, and typed every single word I posted.
I was angry, but proud of myself at the same time.
That's the level I want to be at, a bot level of hard working!
Why you're failing to attract clients as a graphic designer?
Think about it carefully.
Companies, for example, a programming company—why do they have specialized programmers and separate sales and marketing teams?
Why don’t the programmers handle sales as well?
That way, the company would save money by not hiring more people.
Here’s why,
and this answer will make you understand the problem most people face when trying to find work with a skill like translation (in this case):
Programming is a skill, and finding clients is another skill.
Both require significant effort and time to learn and master.
That’s why companies hire people specialized in each field.
Now, when someone has a skill and complains about not finding clients—without even mentioning that most people who claim to have a skill (like design, which is the field I can assess)—when I see their work, they are often still in the beginner stage or, at best, an advanced beginner.
In the past few months, dozens of people sent me their portfolios, and honestly, before opening them, I would think, "Please let it be professional, please let it be professional." But rarely did I find someone truly at a high professional level. Of course, I’d end up disappointed and go back to sleep.
Returning to the topic of skills: as we said, companies hire specialists for each role. So, when someone decides to go freelance, they must think of themselves as their own company. They need all the required skills, not just one. They need the skill to deliver the work and the skill to find clients to hire them.
Thinking that mastering the work alone is enough (and it might be enough if your work speaks for itself and positions you as rare and exceptional) is wrong because you’re competing with millions of people who also excel in your skill, but for a limited number of clients.
To win those clients, you need to elevate your service level and work hard to learn and invest in the skill of finding clients. You must dedicate as much time and effort to it as you did to mastering your craft.
It's funny how X suspended my account because they thought that I'm a bot posting and commenting and liking randomly, where I'm personally posting and writing real value, and comments on real value, and only like real value ..
I was angry when they did that, but also was happy because it game me a sign that I'am "putting the hard work.
Now I got it back .. let's go
There’s no such thing as a failed experience.
It took me over 11 years of trying.
I studied two majors, in two countries.
I tried many things, both online and offline.
Every time, I failed.
Every time, the reason was the same: My own mistakes.
I used to tell myself, "I wasted years."
At 23, I thought, "It’s too late for me."
At 25, I thought, "I wasted two more years."
At 27, it was the same. But now I realize:
The reasons for my failures were always inside me,
not outside.
Last year, I came to Vietnam for a fresh start.
That plan failed too.
But somehow, I got up and kept trying.
I would fall, feel stuck, feel hopeless...
But then I would try again.
A few months ago, I finally found my path.
For the first time, I feel like I’m on the right track.
For the first time, I’m fully focused on one thing.
And every time I face a problem, I remember a past failure that taught me how to deal with it.
This is what I’ve learned after 12 years:
Failures aren’t the end. Failures teach you lessons.
And those lessons prepare you for success in the future.
If you feel stuck, trust me.
Keep going. Find what’s holding you back.
And work on it.
It might take a week to fix.
It might take years.
But, just know,
Trying creates opportunities.
Not trying creates nothing.

For real stories, and real value.
A logo is not just beautiful art, it's a solution that answers to fundamental questions
1- The service / product
2- The market (competitors and target)
3- The vision and value
The best logo is the logo that answers these three points perfectly.
Two weeks ago, I spoke with someone on Upwork who was looking for a logo and a website built on Webflow. During our Zoom call, she told me that someone had already worked on her website, but the result was a disaster, despite her paying a significant amount.
It was clear that she was very impulsive, making snap decisions without much thought or proper study. She was about to repeat the same mistake with me, wanting to hand over the redesign project quickly and without proper consideration.
I told her to stop. "You’re making the same mistake. Take your time, review my past work, ask me questions, and see what I can offer you before deciding." I also assured her, "We’ll create a good website for you, but let’s not rush into it."
Her personality was very simple and naïve. This prompted me to offer her a price that was 33% lower than what I usually charge, something she really appreciated. To illustrate how naïve she was, she didn’t even know how to share her domain details properly. She ended up giving me her email and password directly (something that others could easily exploit). She even offered to share her Instagram password to adjust it for her business. Of course, I declined.
We completed the work, and naturally, she was 100% happy with the results, Logo and website.
Two days ago, she contacted me again. She said, "I have three more projects for you." One was another website for her, and the other two were for people she knew.
I made it clear that the price I gave her was a special deal just for her and not my usual rate. She said she understood. She even mentioned showing my work to people she meets, who were also impressed and interested in getting a similar website.
She asked me to share my desired pricing so she could convince them. I told her, "You need to tell me their budget first. My regular rate is this much ****, but if they’re wealthy, I’ll double that rate." She agreed, saying it wouldn’t be a problem and that she’d bring me one or two website projects per month, considering her network includes wealthy clients.
Later, she asked me, "Now that I’ve seen your work and the results, do you think it’s fair for me to ask for a refund from the person who created the bad website?"
I told her: "Yes, request 80% of your money back. They’ll likely refuse, so negotiate for 50%. If they still refuse, just let it go and move on. It’s not worth stressing over. But, learn from this—don’t hire someone in a rush."
Her response?
"You’re right. From now on, whenever I have an important decision to make, I’ll consult you first because I tend to make impulsive choices."
This story, though simple, highlights an important point: when you genuinely solve a client’s real problems, you earn their trust.
Trust translates into future projects. She paid me a third of my usual rate, but thanks to her, I’m likely to earn three times more in the future—at least enough to compensate for that discount and more.
@levie I've never see in this way to be honest,
I'm trying to think, at my level (small agency) how would Ai help me tackle problems I wasn't even trying to solve. as so far Ai is being helpful as you said in efficiency.
Any example?
I don’t want people to react to my posts just to get a reaction back.
Those aren’t the kind of people I want to follow.
And they’re not the kind of people I want following me.
I don’t write motivational quotes.
I don’t write to make you feel good for a moment and then forget it.
I write to share something meaningful.
To give value.
When you read, you should learn something.
Or at least, it should make you think.
When someone visits my profile,
I want them to keep scrolling.
Keep thinking.
That’s the goal.
To follow quality.
And be followed by quality.
