I love babble, especially when the words being repeatedly targeted on the #AAC are, "out, off," and variations of "no" (nowhere, nothing, no one). Big ๐to @CoughDropAAC@PRCbrand @TobiiDynavox @AssistiveWare and others for giving people a #voice.
#ATIAcon is happening all over the world online! Just learned about vetting apps and websites for #accessibility and got lots of good resources. Thanks @CAST_UDL!
Using AAC to repair communication https://t.co/hT43b1QLSJ via @YouTube#smorres coming in strong with respect & reflect, expand, slow rate (bonus points for #upsidedown modeling) and wait time!
Things I am excited about:
1. Kids smiling at me when I model #AAC for them
2. Kids appropriately using #fidgets to help them focus
3. #kids in general, actually
@JudithSchoonov3@DeborahSchwind1 We looked at what software was approved for use in our district to give teachers specifics for electronic resources, so we knew anything we showed them would be supported.
Teachers trying to toss acetate sheets (great for clear iPad screen covers you can write on) and binders w/ a clear pocket on the cover (great for sturdy visuals, thanks @JudithSchoonov3 for that tip). Mine now! #reuse#AAC#backtoschool#lowtech
Long and productive first week back at school. Decided to use #AAC to express my feelings about students coming back next Thursday. Thanks to @attipscast for the idea!
On vacation but still looking for #accessibility. @asianartmuseum had QR codes for PDFs that seem to have OCR to label artworks when several were in one case. Never seen that before, very cool!
@GamesDoneQuick is doing a charity video game marathon to benefit @MSF! I love the little touches, like putting a flashing light warning on games that have them. Gaming is #accessible for everyone, even when it's done quickly! #SGDQ2022
