After many long, thoughtful conversations with my family and coaches, along with much prayer, I am excited to announce my commitment to Stanford University to continue my academic and athletic career !!! Thank you to all the coaches throughout this recruiting process who believed in me, as well as to everyone who has supported me in so many ways along my journey !!! A special thank you to all of my Coaches and teammates at De La Salle, as well as @CoachKekuewa, @tavitap, Andrew Luck, and the entire Stanford family for making this decision so easy !!! I’M HOME 🌲🌲🌲🔴🔴🔴
The fact that Stanford fans are asking these questions is like a call from an old friend you haven’t seen in a while. It’s been a rough couple of seasons for the Cardinal, and the move to the ACC has us all wondering what’s in store for the Stanford program. But last weekend the Cardinal swept Florida State, winning 4-3, 8-7 in 11, and 7-4 on a walkoff grand slam. Stanford followed that up with a 6-5 win in 12 innings in midweek over UC Davis. That’s a team that’s believing and finding a way to win close games during its six-game winning streak.
Obviously, the RPI at 95 isn’t at-large worthy, so it will need to rise quite a bit to get into range. There are two road series remaining that help: trips to Notre Dame (20-20, 75 RPI) and Cal (23-21, RPI 65), and a home series against North Carolina State (28-16, RPI 43). Winning all three of those series will provide an RPI bump, but not enough to get to the fifty range, which is likely the cutoff for at-large consideration. Florida State got in at RPI 50 in 2019, and with the strong finish, Stanford would have a case should it get there. Still, that’s 45 points away, which seems unreasonable even with a run in the ACC Tournament. -- For More:
