We believe in Montenegro ’28 by 28’.
And we will support you all the way.
The finish line is in sight.
And crossing it would send a powerful signal across the Western Balkans:
Reforms deliver. And EU membership is within reach.

She was 12 years old when she realized that people were dying because doctors couldn't check their DNA fast enough—so she wrote a computer program that could do it in seconds instead of hours.
Her name is Sofia Tomov. And at age 12, she decided that if the world's leading scientists couldn't solve a problem fast enough, she'd solve it herself.
The problem: doctors prescribe medication without knowing how a patient’s DNA will react. Hidden mutations can make the drugs dangerous—even deadly.
Adverse drug reactions kill over 100,000 Americans each year. Fourth leading cause of death. More than car accidents. More than diabetes.
Sequencing a patient’s genome seems like the solution. But the human genome has six billion base pairs. Analyzing it takes hours. Sometimes days.
For someone having a heart attack or seizure, that’s too long. People die waiting.
The smartest scientists had tried for years. They couldn’t solve it.
Sofia did.
She wrote an algorithm that could scan a genome for dangerous drug-reaction mutations in seconds instead of hours.
She wasn’t just interested in computers—she wanted to save lives. At eleven, she filed a patent for a device that safely disposes of medications to protect water supplies.
At twelve, she tackled a problem that had stumped the world. She studied genetics, learned which mutations affect drug metabolism, and coded a program that could identify risks fast enough for emergencies.
Her algorithm focused on the critical DNA regions, used machine learning, and optimized speed without losing accuracy.
In 2016, she entered the Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge. She competed against thousands, many older. She made the finals with her life-saving algorithm.
Sofia’s vision is global. Every patient’s genome could be sequenced. Doctors could know instantly which medications are safe. Lives saved.
She showed that age doesn’t determine impact. Credentials don’t determine value. You need research, understanding, and courage to act.
Sofia saw a problem killing thousands every year and thought: “I can fix that.”
And she did. At twelve.
Montenegro might become the next EU member state, as it has been decided to start drafting Montenegro’s EU Accession Treaty.
The EU is recognising the progress they have made, thus leading to this vital step towards joining the European family!
Montenegro’s place inside the EU is now taking shape.
Today, Member States decided to start drafting Montenegro’s EU Accession Treaty.
This is a major step on the path to EU membership, a clear recognition of Montenegro’s progress, and an encouragement to accelerate reforms.
It also offers a chance to draw lessons from past enlargements and include new and stronger safeguards in future accession treaties to prevent backsliding on the rule of law and fundamental values.
Počinje izrada Ugovora o pristupanju Crne Gore Evropskoj uniji! 🇲🇪🇪🇺
Ovakav razvoj događaja jasno ide u prilog planu zatvaranja poglavlja do kraja godine.

My father handed me a framed poem the day I graduated college. No watch. No check. A poem.
I didn't understand it yet. But I hung it in my cubicle at @HSBC, my first job out of my MBA program.
It was called "Success"—attributed to Emerson—and it said nothing about corner offices, stock options, or your name on a building.
It talked about laughing often. Earning the respect of honest critics. Leaving the world slightly less broken than you found it.
I read it every morning at my desk. The same desk where I watched a global bank choose profit over national security and expected me to stay quiet about it.
That poem became the most dangerous thing in my cubicle.
Because when you internalize a definition of success that has nothing to do with money or titles, you become very hard to control. You can't threaten someone's career when they've already decided their career isn't the point.
After I blew the whistle, I lost my job. I lost relationships. The bank paid $1.9 billion in fines.
At the time, I thought I had lost everything.
I actually gained everything.
Resilience. Courage. Integrity that no one can take from me. It made me a stronger person. And every company I've built since—every decision I've made—is rooted in that poem my father gave me.
My message to anyone starting their career: the focus is not making money. Make a significant positive difference. Try to leave the world a bit better. The money will follow.
There is a lot of evil out there. But I choose to focus on the positive. I see so many people—CEOs, leaders, everyday professionals—trying to do the right thing. And it is encouraging.
The right thing doesn't mean you have to blow the whistle on an international bank and stand up to terrorists and drug cartels.
It's the little moments.
Just focus on doing the next right thing. Baby steps.
My father gave me the answer key before I even knew the test was coming. He showed me what success actually looks like—and I hope this reminds someone out there that the things worth building are always worth the cost.
Success is knowing that even one life has breathed easier because you refused to look away.
That poem still hangs on my wall. Different office now. Same standard.

Is Montenegro still on track to join the EU in 2028?
Podgorica still "has to deliver quite a lot" to close negotiations on joining the bloc, @MartaKosEU told us.
"[But] for the time being, it looks good."
