#Payam_Faridian, a 34-year-old Bahá’í artist specializing in pottery, residing in Mashhad, has been sentenced to two years in prison by the Court of Appeal.

Previously, the Second Branch of the Mashhad Revolutionary Court had sentenced this Baha'i citizen to three years in prison on charges of "assembly and collusion" under Article 610 of the Islamic Penal Code.

Around 560 arrests at this year’s Notting Hill carnival. Weapons seized, sex crimes recorded, two knife attacks, widespread illegal drug possession, and a police chase which ended with a man dying in a canal.

Yet the Metropolitan Police said in a statement that the carnival passed “largely without incident” and described the atmosphere as “overwhelmingly positive and celebratory".

Pyongyang levels of propaganda going on here. If this had been any other event - say a football match or patriotic rally or anti-war demo - we wouldn’t have heard the last of it. The establishment would have denounced such a crime-fest full-throatedly and demanded sanctions against the organisers.

The Transwoman of the Day for 1 September is Shane “Stephanie” Green. In 2018, the 6’2, 230 lb Green was convicted of sexual assault after he dragged a 15 y/o female McDonald’s employee into a bathroom stall and abused her.

After his release from prison, Green began making the rounds of Canada’s women’s shelters, using his “gender identity” to intimidate staff members into letting him stay. At least one shelter system had flagged him as dangerous, but in August of 2022, he raped a female shelter resident in a different part of the state.

Green was sentenced in April of 2023 to two years’ probation and time served, and was placed on the Canadian sex offender registry. This slap on the wrist had no effect whatsoever on Green: by that June, he was already calling women’s shelters and looking for placement, sometimes using the name “Kelsey Adams.”

Canadian authorities insist that Green is not actually trans, but is claiming a transgender identity as a way to access vulnerable women. You know — that thing that never happens unless the alternative is to admit that a trans person committed a sex crime.

This woman is about to be executed in Iran.

Her name is Taraneh Rahimi. 20 years old. From Isfahan.

Her crime? Joining the January uprising and stopping the beating of another protester.

Sentence: DEATH after being tortured with electric shocks and threatened with rape in prison.

Despite Taraneh's deteriorating health, an official in the prison's medical unit told her:

"You're going to be executed anyway whether you die from the pain in your leg or die paralyzed, what does it matter?"
