This person is uninsured so not the same situation, but just so you know, the no surprises act includes air ambulances. That means air ambulance companies cannot charge you more than they would pay if the service was considered “in-network” with your insurance.

Ground ambulances are NOT covered by the no surprises act because there was too much variation in state and local regulations, which gave Congress a headache and they had to lay down.
