I have spoken to the CEO of Tendring District Council. Reform has offered to cover the cost of the by-election.

I will be writing to Rachel Reeves later today with the same message.

Given that we asked for this by-election in the first place, it’s only right that we pay for it.

@EastMidRailway there’s missing your connection by seconds - it happens! She wouldn’t have expected him to hold the train for her. But I don’t think this is appropriate or professional conduct of behaviour by any means - especially to a 77 year old lady. Kindness goes a long way

@EastMidRailway hi I’d like to make a complaint about a member of staff on board the 1pm Sheffield - London St Pancras please. Watched my 77 yr old mother run to catch the train, shut the door in her face and then waved patronisingly at her.

@LNER will there be any trains running south from Berwick upon Tweed today? My elderly mother has been waiting at Berwick station since her 10.12 train to Kings X got cancelled

@sarajcox Or another time going back up from Manchester to Carlisle where a full punch-up brawl erupted amongst a group of friends. Accusations of cheating - they pushed the 'cheater' off the train at Preston and got booted off themselves further up the line for stealing from the trolley

@sarajcox Got on train at Carlisle to go down to Manchester. A very sloshed stag party in fancy dress on my carriage - the groom started crawling over the top of the seats whilst singing 'He's Not Heavy, He's My Brother' - I'm sure he was dressed as a schoolgirl.

@thetrainline hello my 76 year old mothers 1pm train from King’s Cross to Berwick has just been cancelled. Is there any way I can reserve her a seat on another service even though she has an advance single ticket 1st class ticket?
