met a guy in dubai some time ago.

he was pretty humble tbh, old money type.

we're up on some rooftop, the whole skyline lit up underneath us, and i say something about how insane the wealth up there is.

he just laughs at me.

"you think any of this is real?"

i didn't get it.

so he points out at the towers, the cars, the whole glowing city, and goes: "none of it. it's a number somebody typed into a bank. belief stacked on belief stacked on belief. that's ALL it ever was."

then he says the thing i still think about.

"attention is the only thing up here that's actually real. money just shows up wherever enough people are already looking. you control where they look, you control all of it."

and he wasn't being deep about it.

he said it like he was bored.

like it was the most obvious thing in the world and he couldn't believe i didn't already know lol.

but i thought about that for weeks.

because he was right.

and worse, i'd been living it for years without the words for it.

i spent my whole career pointing attention at things.

creators, brands, whatever needed eyes on it.

i was moving the one thing that actually mattered and calling it "content."

money is fake though.

it drifts toward whoever the crowd is already looking at.

so now i do exactly what that guy described.

except on purpose, and for companies.

i take a startup with real proof and nobody looking at it, and i manufacture where the market looks.

i get the right rooms seeing them everywhere until the belief is just... there.

and then the money does what money always does.

it shows up after.

This was my first interaction with the AI space. It was around 2016. My buddy Varun, had made this neural network that classified tumor cells scans and classified them as malignant or benign. All running on this AWS server and using Matlab scripts to further vectorize and breakdown patterns in the scans.

He now works in the MIT Quantum computing Department. Visited him last year and it was an interesting experience.

Some minds are so smart that they just hop out of capitalism.

I want to say he’s on a motorbike right now roadtriping through the californian roads and solving the words quantum computing issues.
