@JaredCBurt@pastordmack@BaptistBlogger I mean to be fair, the SBC is a joke anyway. I would never want to be in friendly cooperation with them. And this is someone who has a degree from an SBC college in theology and went to an SBC seminary and served in SBC churches all over Texas for most of my life
Very real conversation:
“Why didn’t the democrats vet Platner better? Seems like they were in a hurry to just get someone to run.”
Me: “ you are supporting Ken Paxton and Donald Trump. Do you not see the irony”?
“That’s different, but the democrats….”
Lord kill me now.
BREAKING: Ken Paxton’s own lawyer just endorsed James Talarico:
“I defended Ken Paxton for years in the impeachment trial and in state criminal cases. But in my view, I think Ken has lost sight of his core mission, which is to represent the people of Texas.
And unlike Ken, I believe that you, James, believe in unity over division and that you know how to assemble not only Democrats but Independents and Republicans and we need that right now.
We need unity, we don't need any more division and that's why I'm supporting you.”
@Protestia Baptist have excelled for decades. Nothing they preach follows what Jesus taught. Let’s talk about sexual abuse of women and children. Let’s talk about why you say. It’s not an issue and how you victimize people and how you protect the good old boys club. Doesn’t sound like Jesus
Of course you don’t care. under your theology, you are the only ones who are “right“. However, if you understood Christianity as a whole you would know that we are all part of the same kingdom therefore we are all each other‘s neighbor. And I think Jesus had some words about that
I couldn’t possibly care less to hear the opinion of other denominations about the SBC while we are meeting.
There are people here with opinions I don’t share, but it’s *our* family discussion to have.
If you have hopes for us, just pray for us.
@ColtonYarbro@JaredCBurt The definition of the gospel? It’s what they say it is. So it’s never an issue for them. Because reality is they make their own gospel and that’s how they live. The SBC has been out of touch with Jesus for decades. Obviously not changing now.
@ShawnWGillogly@JaredCBurt Oh, you’re right they’re not in danger of losing it. They’ve already lost it. As a matter fact, they’ve moved from simply losing the gospel, which should’ve been bad enough, to being the antithesis of the gospel.
