@ncooper1106 @davenewworld_2 @gisellemarie @amourence1 The mayor rotates with seniority and Amourence Lee is in turn to hold that role. The NIMBY members are blocking her because the mayor has power to break a tie vote, if necessary, when filling the vacant fifth seat.

NPR can confirm the death of longtime soccer sportswriter Grant Wahl (@GrantWahl). He died today in Doha, Qatar while covering the Argentina-Netherlands World Cup quarterfinal. Story to come.

Story from last night's San Mateo council meeting. By refusing to vote for Councilmember Lee in the regular mayoral rotation, Diaz Nash and Newsom Jr. are gleefully putting the city in gridlock.

The upcoming vote for the a fifth council member could end in an unbreakable tie.

Shameful local politics: Two new San Mateo councilmembers are trying to withhold the mayoral transition to @amourence1 in an overt power grab. I'm embarrassed to be represented by @lisadiaznash in District 1.
