St. Anthony Village Fire Chief Mark Sitarz was in the right place at the right time.

This morning, while driving in to work, he saw a young child run across Silver Lake Rd., the department said in a Facebook post. Chief Sitarz called in for assistance and learned the boy was autistic, having taken off from his parents nearby. The child wandered into a nearby pond and Chief Sitarz jumped in, pulling the boy from the water. St. Anthony PD also assisted at the scene.

"Teamwork and being at the right place at the right time helped save a life today. Way to go Chief Sitarz"

We did it, we won! Extremely honored and humbled to be chosen to serve Columbia Heights for the next four years.

We didn’t run to just win, but to move the city forward - and that work starts now.
